12 playoff teams listed, and the poll does not include Alabama, i love it! Now a waiting game to decide who your next opponent will be, either ND, or Indiana. 3 weeks to rest, heal up, and get ready for the Sugar Bowl..GoDAWGS!

I'm sure the moving vans in Tuscaloosa are warming up….but the "committee" screwed The Tide…..it pains me but, they won the game against The Dawgs….they didn't beat us, the won the game on one play and they played a schedule light years tougher than SMU, so IMO they deserved to play Penn St……OK, you're not convinced….why not have Bama and SMU play w "Wildcard" game to decide?????

Wonder what the odds are of UGA playing clemson again? I'd bet no college team has ever beat 2 different teams, 2 times each, in the same season. Already beat texas twice, play clemson and win again..

I agree. It looks like we got a very favorable draw.

That said, all these teams are dangerous. All these teams are fully capable of beating us. Nothing will be easy.

I'm so glad we have no chance of playing Texas for a third time in the quarterfinals, in the Sugar Bowl. I think we'd beat them the third time, but we shouldn't have to unless we meet them in the final championship game.

However, I'm very confused. Which members of the committee will have to go to jail for breaking the law mandating Alabama as a playoff member no matter what?

    Go, Dawgs!

Alabama was given a gift last year for Saban’s retirement. No such gift this year.

We’ve got a great path. That’s pretty much all that matters to me right now. All in all, I think it’s a pretty fair and reasonable seeding.

I’m on board with part of this (not a downvoter, btw), but Alabama’s losses are a legitimate reason to leave them under SMU. If they’d beaten a terrible Oklahoma team, there’d be no question. SMU had a heckuva comeback in that game last night, not dissimilar to our game against Alabama. Unfortunately, the win against us is Bama’s largest bit of kudos, but that was at home and at the last second.

Yep. We won’t even see another SEC team this year unless we and one of the others in the field make it to the final game.

Alabama beat UGA, head to head, in the SECCG last season winning the SEC championship. Who deserved to be in over 12-1 SEC Champ AL last season?

I am not sure that we will see CBeck again this season. That kind of hit puts a lot of strain on the shoulder and elbow. Hard to imagine he will be ready to play close to 100% in 3 weeks.

That being said, GStockton played pretty well and showed a lot of poise in a high pressure game with a lot on the line. His ability to run adds a dangerous element to the offense that CBeck doesn't seem to be able to add.

The problem with GStockton has always been his accuracy and immature decision making. Maybe 3 weeks of 1st team reps can help him dial in and slow down his game. Yes he did throw 1 nice pass to ASmith (?) on a slant. But he also threw a pass 10 ' over the head of a WR in the end zone that put a dent in the stadium wall 10 yards past the back of the end zone.

You have to like the draw that UGA got. UGA will only have to play 1 of OR, TX, OSU and TN. That looks about as good a draw as you can get. ND and PSU did look pretty good in their last games.

Can UGA win it all with GStockton at QB? That is the question. It will be nice to get 3 weeks of recovery time to see who can return for the Sugar Bowl. You would think that TRat, ETN, Greene, Morris, CMiller, RRob, BRob, Aguero, and maybe CYoung would all be fully available in 3 weeks.

Stunningly, most espn pickers see us losing our first game to Notre Dame. /sarc

I like the Dawg's path in the playoffs. I like our chances. It might be the easiest path to the National Championship game overall. Playing either Notre Dame or Indiana is MUCH preferable to potentially Texas (again), Penn State, or Ohio State (all the teams I think will win their matches).

I don't really think we'll have Beck back for the playoffs - and even if we do I can't imagine he will be 100%. Gotta start planning the offensive game with Stockton in mind. If he is the guy then Bobo will need to work up a realistic playbook for him. Kirby will lean on the defense and ball control to win against Indiana or ND.

    GO DAWGS!!

Concerning the criticism with Bama or SMU…I do think the CFP Committee got it right, but I understand both arguments.

Like Saban mentioned during the show, SOS should seriously be more part of the rankings determination going forward. Wins & losses should not trump SOS. I also like his suggestion of adding 1-2 more conference games for ALL conferences so we can get a better idea of how good these teams are. Get rid of the Ball State and UT Chattanooga kinda games. I still believe you have to give the Conference Champion a BYE in the playoffs. Otherwise, if not, the game becomes something you definitely want to avoid.

I agree with your comments regarding Gunner, but we need to realize he has probably had less than 30% of practice time with the starters. The good news is we have 3.5 weeks to get him more comfortable with the first team. Also, it will be interesting to see who our #2 QB will be. Hopefully it’s all a moot point and Beck will be OK. Go Dawgs!!!
