Exactly! If that had happened, he'd be criticizing that instead of a hail mary pass..

It's hard to replace Beck's experience but this could actually work in the Dawgs favor. Not a lot of film on Gunner. Maybe switch up the playbook? RPO's for Gunner? Dual threat QB should open things up.

Per ESPN, Beck (class of 2020) was a 4-star with a "scout grade" of 81. 14th QB nationally and 234th player overall. Stockton (class of 2022) was a 4-star with a scout grade of 83 and was the 5th QB nationally and 110th player overall. Beck rated as a pocket passer. Stockton a dual threat.

Similarly, 24/7 had Beck the 9th rated QB prospect (248 overall nationally) in 2020 and Stockton (2022) as #7 QB and 124 overall nationally. ON3 was similar.

you know that Bobo and Kirby will have a very conservative game plan because they don't want to put too much on Gunner's shoulders the very first game and will treat him like Stetson and Carson in their first starts before they take the leash off. Get ready for a bunch of WR tunnel screens and runs up the middle DawgNation Family!

Gunner has the talent. Can Bobo change a little to use it? Of course, it won't matter what talent Gunner has if we use wide receivers that drop the ball. And did I see one of last years recruits jumped in the portal. Why did we only recruit two players last year at WR? What is going on?

I’m Very sorry that Beck is hurt. And wish him the Very best. But if Stockton is gonna be the man, he will make UGA proud.. He will make mistakes, but he will also make some great plays. He has my trust. Go Dawgs !!

Pray that both Beck and Thorson recover well but nothing for us Dawg fans to do now but pull together and give 100 percent support to Stockton. I'm sure the coaches all know exactly what Stockton can and can't do and they will work to put a game plan together that best highlights his skills. He won't be as experienced as Beck, but Tua wasn't as experienced as Jalen Hurts. And as I've said before, with all of Beck's experience, he still led the SEC in INT's (and no, it wasn't just because his receivers dropped so many passes). So, let's see where this all leads. And if by some **** of fate, Beck is healthy enough to return at some point during the playoffs, all the better. At least we ain't sitting at home talking about woulda, coulda, shoulda like Alabama and Ole Miss. Go Dawgs!

Hope Beck recovers but he never should have been in the game at that point. He had done next to nothing and I was calling for Gunnar at halftime. I hope Gunnar starts the rest of this season. Beck doesn't have the team support that Gunnar has. Beck is all about Beck.

Doubtful there is any chance that CBeck is doing much football with that arm any time soon. #14 is it for at least 2 weeks(season?). He needs every rep but then what happens if you have to go to #3? So #3 needs some reps too.

I think CKS learned another lesson from the last play of the half. He learned a lesson about trying to substitute a QB in as punt protector in punt formation when a fake punt is needed. And he learned not to take a very low percentage chance with his starting QB in a championship game on the last play of the half. Not having CBeck for the playoffs could've cost UGA the championship.

As much as his NFL draft stock has dropped, IF CBeck needs surgery, there may be a very high percentage that CBeck comes back for another prove it season.

Saw #14 play a few times in HS. This kid has a ton of HS play under his belt. He also has 2 years in the UGA system. When he came into the game he looked ready to play. He needs a crash course in coaching next 3 wks. Poise, accuracy and decision making will decide these games.

UGA's likely 1st game opponent is ND. ND has the top rated defensive backfield in the playoffs. I suspect that the passing plays that CKS/Bobo call for CFB newby #14 will be highly contemplated, debated and scrutinized.

Nobody called for CBeck to be replaced by BVG last year during Beck's 1st year starting. He played phenomenally and looked like the 2nd coming of Aaron Rodgers. Nobody called for CBeck to be replaced by BVG this season because he was in KY. "Continually shredded"? No more and probably less complaints against CBeck during his 1st 2 years than vs SBIV his 1st 2 years. That's what fans do.

Your view of the history of QB's at UGA during the CKS years is very selective. Fromm took UGA to the championship game in his 1st year. Played well. Clearly more ready than Fields, who followed him the next year, to lead a potential championship team. Fields would've beaten out Fromm in his 2nd year but didn't stick around to win the job. Had nothing to do with mobility. Mobility is always better. But mobility doesn't trump everything else. So many more skills a QB has to have to be successful.

As for Stockton's "mobility" that run up the middle was pretty important and impressive. Put UGA in position to win the game on the next play on 1st and goal. Mobility is way more than speed.

I am sorry but I stand by the belief that it was a bad call and cost our starting quarterback who was on fire the past several games.
I do and will continue to support Stockton, Smart and the University of Georgia but again, it was unnecessary.
