The most important thing that Gunner doesn't have that involves experience is being able to read defenses and react in a split second if that changes at the snap. The RPO game is complex. I do think he can handle the pressure, and I am completely on board with Gunner running the offense no matter what the outcome. Bobo will need to not overload him but also give him enough for him and the team to be successful.

Gunner reminds me a little of a young Murray or Bennett. Tough situation to walk into. He'll do fine. Just needs to avoid these type of plays if possible -

I for one will be awaiting the second opinion on Carson…do not count him out just yet. Gunner will ready I am sure.

Agreed. Small amendment though:  He doesn't have game experience.  He's gotten lots of practice reps that mimic the speed and complexity of games,  if not the ferociousness.   Also, even if he doesn't have game experience, this young man seems to have lot of game in him.

Beck has a bigger arm. But Gunner looks like he can fire the ball plenty well.  Plus, he has the legs of Bennett, which should benefit a team with a less-than-dependable passing game.

Mike and Conner must have seen as much of him as anyone but the players and coaches, so I'm curious about their takes.

It's consistently come through that the players have a lot of confidence in him.  I'm Kirby meant it when he pumping Stockton up the other day on national television by grabbing his arm and saying, "This kid's special. This kid's special."

Who knows? This might focus everyone for the playoffs and enable the O to come up with new looks.

One thing's certain:  Notre Dame, Indiana and Boise State don't have a lot of tape on him.

Gunner kind of makes me think of a combo of Aaron Murray and Stetson Bennett. One things for sure he’s not lacking in the courage department !! He’s not blazing fast with his legs but fast enough to make a few yards on busted plays and more on designed plays. He’s gonna make some mistakes. But I also think he’s gonna make some great plays.

I believe he will give his all for the team on and off the field of play. His Dad Rob is in the Ga. Southern Hall Of Fame. He was on the Eagles Defense but I can’t remember which position. So football is in Gunner’s DNA !! Go Dawgs !! Go Gunner !!

Kirby: “I wish he’d gotten more game experience up to this point in time.”

That would be Kirby’s own fault. He tends to put QB back ups in very late—long after most of us are asking, “why is our starter still in there?” There have been blowouts in years past where all the backup did was hand the ball off—run clock. That’s on Kirby.
