Really don't see him returning any time soon. Most likely needs surgery then rehab. That arm is his meal ticket to the next level.

My ignorant opinion is that their getting a second opinion rules out a tear. While a normal person can defer surgery with a partial tear and allow the ligament tear to re-attach and heal on its own, a quarterback looking to throw on that elbow for 3 playoff games starting in 3 weeks isn't normal. Also, while surgery would eliminate his ability to play for the short term, it would be better for the intermediate term, for his being able to work out for NFL teams before the draft at the end of April (though the combine in late February and early March might be a bridge too far). But if it is grade 1 strain, then they are probably looking for a way to get him back on the field in 3 weeks.

Who will punt for us and what is their demonstrated performance?

Freshman Drew Miller. Rated the No. 1 punter in the last recruiting cycle by the 247Sports Composite.

Miller averaged 49.5 yards per punt on 30 punts as a senior with nine downed inside the 10, according to his high school coach. Miller also played quarterback.

There is also backup Charlie Ham. He was involved in the fake punt. Maybe it's just me but found some humor in this -

"From the Texas perspective, the successful execution of the fake punt was all the more frustrating because Georgia’s starting punter was hurt in the third quarter and left the game, so when the Bulldogs head coach made that critical decision, it was with backup place kicker Charlie Ham on the field, a Duke graduate transfer who hasn’t attempted a single punt in his six years of college football.

Despite the improbability of Ham attempting his first collegiate punt, Sarkisian said that the Longhorns had a return called on the play."

Right? While we all talk about football strategies and tactics all the time, I'm frequently impressed (and grateful) for the graciousness of many DN posters 👍

Huge agreement on the best wishes for Carson and Brett!

With that injury my bet is that you will see Beck in a Bulldog uniform Labor day weekend 2025
