Please stop using “We’re always talking and dealing with our players. That’ll move to the forefront like right now in terms of what we do,” Georgia coach Kirby Smart said on dealing with the transfer portal. “But then we’ll start back practice and we’ll continue to get better with the guys that want to be here. And there’s not going to be a team in the country that doesn’t have somebody leave, probably somebody they don’t expect. But I almost feel like that’s become the norm. And it is what it is. We’re going to coach the ones that want to be here.”. I want to hear "We are working hard to keep ……" or "We wish him well.". That said, glad he is leaving. It will be interesting to see if Ole Miss has any interest.

What happens to players who transfer a second time prior to graduation?

Don't they have to sit out or wait a year at the third school before playing? Something like that?

    Go, Dawgs!

I mean he celebrated with his Ole Miss friends and then Kirby turned around and called him an idiot, I’d leave to to be honest!

    See ya IDIOT.

oh well….maybe he will end up in Ole Miss.

No, they can transfer an unlimited number of times now. They eliminated the rule where a player has to sit out a year.

I have nothing against the kid. I kind of had hopes for him but his transferring to Georgia never made sense to me. I don’t think he is an idiot. I think it was poor judgement and timing caught on camera and I was ashamed to have the head coach call any player an idiot. Fans can, not the coach.

I hope he finds a good situation. It has to be tough being the top player and then go to only watching from the sidelines. I’d say dropping a division or smaller school is what he needs.

I am with you on most of what you said. Except he wasn't a top player at Buford. He was a 3* most of his time there. Only after he committed to AL did he become a (low) 4*. I was surprised that AL took him.

Gotta make room for players with more upside, production or potential.

He signed the portal papers that night in Oxford. Kirby didn’t need to apologize. That was such a bad image.

Everyone makes mistakes but Kirby calling the kid an idiot in public was10x worse than jumping around with some friends. Esp when Smart has consistently defended so many of the law breakers as “good kids” etc. I wish Pope well wherever he ends up.

A little bit of hyperbole. I didn't like it but Kirby had a moment under immense pressure and he's rightly apologized. Pope would probably have hit the portal regardless.

I don’t have anything against any of these guys leaving. And as long as it’s not vs the Dawgs or has negative impact for the Dawgs I wish Em well. It’s a whole new world in CFB with the advent of the TP. It’s “business” with players now.

Dawgs will also over time Obtain some good players from the TP so it’s a two way street. And there will still be Some players that are totally loyal to UGA probably just won’t be as many as times past. I can’t really blame these kids Especially those not from Georgia. If somebody was waving a bunch of cash at me I’d probably take it to. It is what it is.

There will still be players that give their very all for the Dawgs AND Themselves, and there’s nothing wrong with seeing those players as DGDs. Just give their all on and off the field. Help UGA to be a winning and championship program. If they do that what more could we ask from them ?

If we see guys getting in constant trouble off field and/or playing half hearted on field then we won’t miss them when they leave. Some are not bad players on and off the field they just can’t out play a guy or guys in front of them so they leave. No need to be bitter at them. Just opens a opportunity for hopefully a better player to fill their slot.

CFB changed forever the moment NIL and the TP were introduced. Just think one of our best players Now was a mud lizard last year !! And I’m sure glad he’s here now playing for the Dawgs. He seems to be very glad to be here to. Go Dawgs !!

Still wondering how bad any adverse affects will be on Dawgs Special Teams as several if not all of these guys were on STs. Hope it doesn’t weaken us down to badly entering the Play Offs. Go Dawgs !!
