    Next man up . Just curious if anyone on here has any idea why Coach seems to coddle Beck ?

    @navydawg

    It really is hilarious. Ladd McConkey is closing in on 1000 yards for a San Diego Chargers team that is contending for a playoff spot. Brock Bowers is also closing in on 1000 yards for a terrible Raiders team - meaning that if the team was better he would have even more - and is #1 in the NFL in TE receiving yards. And while Daijun Edwards, Kendall Milton and Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint aren't likely to make their mark in the NFL, they were better last year than anyone that UGA has now. Edwards, for example, was a 3 down back who stayed healthy and had 5.5 yards per carry. Rosemy-Jacksaint could get open and didn't drop the ball.

    So tell me, why do UGA fans treat Carson Beck as if he is the problem? Yes, Gunner Stockton is mobile. Is that mobility going to give UGA tailbacks who can stay healthy and break long runs? Is Carson Beck's lack of mobility why UGA's WRs can't get open, don't make plays on the ball and lead the nation in drops by a mile? Someone below said "maybe Gunner can throw a catchable ball." Fascinating how Bowers, McConkey and an undrafted free agent in Rosemy-Jacksaint were able to catch those same passes just last year. Or that they are unaware that the NCAA does not count uncatchable passes in their drops statistics.

    Yes, it is very appropriate to root for UGA in the playoff. I believe that UGA has a real shot because they are going to be a lot healthier on defense and the OL. UGA also benefits from the fact that 2 of the 4 teams that have the talent to beat them play each other in the first round (Ohio State, Tennessee), a third is one that UGA has beaten twice already (Texas) and the fourth has a suspect enough defense to allow Arian Smith and Dom Lovett to get open (Oregon). But if it happens, it will only be due to the playoffs being easier competition than SEC play, which it almost always is. (2 of UGA's 3 title games were against SEC teams!) But if it happens, it WILL NOT be due to UGA's being a better team WITHOUT the guy who led the SEC in TD passes despite throwing to a bunch of guys who wouldn't start for any other SEC team with a winning record.

    I mentioned this in the past: Trevor Etienne was a backup for 6-7 and 5-7 Florida Gators teams. Switching Gunner Stockton out for Carson Beck won't make him as good as his 1st round draft pick and NFL starter brother.

    Nothing but accolades for Carson Beck…..DGD…..he may not be on the field but rest assured he'll be on the sideline encouraging and supporting Gunner……as for 78dawg, tis the season for AssHats.

    78Dawg, I checked your stats. Since 2020 you have 425 down votes and only 424 up votes. That is an absurd ratio. I know this forum is to express opinions, but your opinions since 2020 don't seem to follow the unprecedented success the Dawgs have had since then. Are you really a Dawg?

    I have nothing but positive thoughts about Carson as a Dawg and hope he succeeds in the NFL and keeps repping the G.

    Think of the hours of practice in the hot sun and the gumption it took to wait this long for "his" time". Carson is a DGD and a wonderful representative for the Dawgs! Best of luck in your recovery, Carson.
