Kirby Smart provides the latest on QBs Carson Beck, Gunner Stockton ahead of Notre Dame game
Georgia coach Kirby Smart provided an update on injured quarterback Carson Beck.
Comments
Am I the only one thinking that Beck not being with the team, or even on campus, is a bad visual?
I agree it seems a bit odd. Consequently, it's hard imaging Beck even considering using his last year of eligibility at Georgia. Go Dawgs!
My apologies, but I do not understand all of the references to Gunnar is “likely to start”?
Beck has been away from the team, not practicing with the team for almost 2 full weeks now.
Every Dawg fan knows that Kirby Smart will not play any players that do not practice with the team and get the reps prior to a game.
So why the double speak?
Obviously the Dawgs are riding with Stockton, period.
So let’s move forward with that!
Gibroni88: I attribute that more to Conners writing than anything he has heard and is quoting. It is really painful reading his articles sometimes what with the double speak, misspelling and confusion in the way he writes and words things. Go Dawgs!
My question is who is going to be the second string quarterback. Will it be Ryan or Rashada. An experienced 5 star or a high school 4 star.
I would suspect it will be whomever is better, and the comments from Smart learn towards Puglisi. Stars mean nothing when they get to college. Ask Ladd McConkey or even Stetson Bennett.
On the flip side, ask bear alexander.
None of us know why he is away. Perhaps consulting with doctors and trying to figure how to get back on track. I gotta imagine the unnecessary injury and his future kind of weighs on his mind.
There is no way I would EVER question Beck’s loyalty. He could have left at any time over the past 4 years and started most anywhere but he stayed because the kid is a Dawg.
Yes. Most of the follow-up commentary heavily suggests that his time away is medically-related.
BTW, I meant no disrespect for Beck. He's doing exactly what he needs to do— focus on gettin that elbow back to 100% as fast as possible, his financial future riding on the health of that arm. And that's the point… his best outcome near-term is spot-on surgery, wildly successful rehab, and building positive brand momentum and thus NFL interest over the next 3-4 months. Go Dawgs!
