Plus Carson is from Florida, and played HS football there. I agree with Miami, and I'd be shocked if he chose a team other than Miami.
I wasn't inclined to comment on this, but a reasonable person can only read so much crap before they have to express themselves. Carson will always be a DGD! He had a bad year and that is a fact. I think he tried to do too much because of several factors and that didn't work. He had a major injury! He needs to show the NFL that he recovered. After this season, UGA is probably not the best proving ground, all things considered. I'm just a fan that played small college football, so I do not have all of the answers, but I truly believe Carson should transfer to a less intense very good smaller school that allows him to prove that he has recovered and allows him to put up some big statistics. Next thing, both lines need to improve! Lastly, unless you can defend your anti Bobo stance, you should keep your opinion to yourself. You obviously don't have a clue. Are there areas that can be improved? Probably, but they need to be identified for us small, brained people that aren't on your level of expertise. Us fans don't know if Kirby gives Bobo instructions, if a receiver runs the wrong route or if they don't run the route correctly, if a blocker missed his assignment, etc. I will concede, that the coaching staff on both sides of the ball seem to be a little stubborn at times, but I do not have the ability to look behind the curtain. My final thought is about letting nonstarters play more to gain experience. In several games where the first half ****, I would have tried some different players for a series or two, especially on offense.
Looks like Carson Beck may get to play against Notre Dame after all. Miami's opening game for 2025 is at home versus the Fighting Irish on August 30th. Miami also has a home game on September 20th versus the Florida Gators. Miami has eight of twelve games at home.
When and where, exactly, did Beck display a prima donna attitude? Do you say that because of his car? He had an NIL with the Lamborghini dealership. I’d take the car, also, as would every person on this board.
That kid waited his turn without NIL and played some danged good ball for us, minus a couple of weeks stretch, and won games in spite of a horrible O-line and receiving corps.
Beck is a DGD and I wish him the best. Wherever he is, I will be rooting for him.
Can't blame him. He's just weighing the best option for himself and his family. I doubt he stays SEC out of respect for UGA. Guaranteed NIL will probably pay much more than 2-3 round NFL draft choice with much less guaranteed. Another year elsewhere and he can improve his draft stock considerably and it won't interfere with UGA progression to Stockton. Good luck, young man.
There are a lot of comments here and I don't want to go back through all of them to "credit" someone that said "the team played harder for GS than for CB".
IF TRUE that could be because it was the playoffs and the entire team felt the need to step up and rally around the back up QB. I hope that is the case.
Otherwise you have to look at the coaching and the players you recruited in a different light. It is on coaching if every player isn't bringing their all on every play, every game. That is the standard. With UGA's depth there is no reason for any player to take a play off while on the field. Or to play harder for 1 QB over another. If that's true there is a coaching/culture problem.
CBeck options next season? OSU, ND, Mia, FSU, AU(?), and any number of other programs. My money would be on OR.
I have to believe that Beck approached Kirby and was told that the team needed to move on from him. Had Beck stayed, the QB situation for the next few years would be a problem. In the current world of college football, you simply cannot afford to have a QB be a starter for more than 2 years.
He will end up in Miami. The second I say this first come across this afternoon, I told my wife "Mark my words, he will go to the Hurricanes."
I just read this and Wow !! This comes as a bit of a shocker as I thought he was NFL bound and down. Speed read some of the many comments here
And here’s my humble take. I wish Carson the Very best. To Me he’s a DGD.
But and IF Gunner will be the starter ( or whoever will be) I certainly Hope our Dawgs can regroup and give that guy full support and pursue the greatest heights of Glory like a hungry Dawg after a delicious steak.
As most of you know I have a bit of favoritism for Gunner as I now live in Rabun County going on three years and have a little connection to his Dad. A casual/business connection. BUT I always have and always Will support All of our QBs. All of our Team. I had Nothing at all against Rashada. And wish him the very best.
If Pugs is Significantly and Clearly better then so be it. But I think with the small amount of time he’s had at UGA and never having thrown the ball in a real game that will be a very high mountain for him to climb.
To Me it’s support fully All the guys that are here now. And wish the best to those who left. Unless they left maliciously giving Kirby and Dawg Nation the bird. If they did that then to heck with Em. Go Dawgs !!
Dude is mediocre. Makes some good throws, but balls are hard to catch. Will never be top notch.
Tell that to a good receiver, like McConkey or Bowers. Or even RaRa Thomas or Rosemy-Jacksaint. “Hard to catch” makes no sense. Same ball, different results.
2023 had 19 drops all season. 2024 had 36.
The quarterback puts it there. It is the receiver’s job to catch it.
Carson Beck transferring to Miami? Honestly, it’s starting to sound less like a strategic career move and more like a plot twist from a rom-com. Let’s break it down.
After a shaky season, Beck’s draft stock has reportedly dropped to a third-round pick. Now, for some guys, that’s a dream, but for Beck? That’s like being told, “Hey, we don’t need you, but you’ll make a nice backup plan after we’ve grabbed a left tackle and a long snapper.” And the money at that level? It’s basically glorified NIL cash with slightly better perks. Might as well stay in college, dominate a few defenses, and roll into the 2025 draft with first-round buzz.
Then there’s the whole “Belichick vs. Cristobal” debate. Let’s be real: Belichick could probably turn Carson into a savvy, game-managing machine who thrives in a system of slants and screens. Cristobal, on the other hand, is more like, “Here’s the playbook. Good luck!” But hey, Beck isn’t transferring to Miami for coaching brilliance—he’s got a girlfriend at UM. Forget the quarterback room; he’s focused on the room she’s in. If he gets to keep his Lambo, well, South Beach is where it belongs.
And yes, UNC would make sense. They’ve got money, an actual need for a QB, and the GOAT QB whisperer in Belichick. But who needs Tar Heels blue when you’ve got South Beach vibes and your significant other cheering you on and cruising next to you with the Lambo top down - year round? Priorities, my friends.
Here’s the real game plan: rehab the draft stock, soak up the Miami lifestyle, and make 2025 his breakout year. Worst case? He’s sipping piña coladas on South Beach, telling everyone, “I was this close to winning the Heisman.” Best case? He becomes the great white hope to drag Miami back to their glory days, slinging touchdowns and making the U relevant again. Either way, it’s a lot better than holding a clipboard in the NFL, rocking a headset, and trying to look engaged while the starter throws picks.
