ATHENS — Georgia and Georgia Tech will once again meet on Black Friday. Given what the Friday game produced in 2024, it’s easy to understand why that’s the case.

I don't give a flippin' flop about viewership or rating. Weekday games are ACC and we should not be engaging in their nonsense. College football is a Saturday thing.

And I get that it is still close to home but it still takes away from the most glorious place on earth; Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium.

Playing this game on Friday puts more attention on this game because there are so many other rivalry games played on Saturday. And it brings back some of the vibe of the old freshman game played on Thanksgiving Day in Atlanta.

It hasn’t been mentioned that this Friday night game gives us an extra day for practice and recovery before the SEC CG. That little extra time may have been the difference in beating Texas in OT. I also like (as mentioned below) that we are showcased and not competing with all the other rivalry games on Saturday. Does anyone know if GT can have recruits at the game since it’s normally their home game? Go Dawgs!!!

Not a fan of it. Tired of hearing Georgia fans talk about how they were glad it was a close game last year. There is nothing good about The Enemy. NOTHING. If you people don't hate The Enemy just lose to them like Jim Donnan did and you will change.

Georgia is already a nationally known brand and doesn't need the exposure or legitimacy like The Enemy does. Another game on black Friday only benefits them. The best thing UGA can do is win 51-7, have no injuries, and make Cryin' Brent Key cry like a blubbering little girl at midfield again.

Connor, enjoyed the Star Wars plug in your article. The Dawgs fans will take over the Benz even though tech doesn’t think we will. It’ll turn out to be a “home” game for Georgia.

87Dawg, I agree that Sanford is the best, but this game would have been played in the dump called Dodd this season, but tech evidently is tired of hearing that Georgia has claimed their stadium, too, so they moved it down the road.

This is not a neutral site game where revenue is shared. It is a home game for The Enemy. If you purchase tickets, you are purchasing them and benefiting The Enemy not UGA. That's the reason they are having the game at the Benz instead of Bobby Dump @ pathetic Grant Field. They know UGA fans will fill the Benz in greater numbers than their stadium and they can make money off it. Don't fall for it!

I know that RedPantsDawg. Tech will get most of the tickets but their nerd fans will sell them on ticket sites just like they do at their own dump stadium. That won’t put money directly into tech. I seriously doubt they will even sell all of their allotment in the first place. 🤨

Bobby Dood stadium= nothing more than an outdated high school stadium
