Mediocre Mike coaching his way to another NIT tournament. Silas Demery, you do know there are 4 other teammates out on the hardwood with you? A real coach would have won this game. A real coach would have called timeout with 8 seconds left trailing by 1 to call (here’s a novel concept) A PLAY…but o. Run Silas run…

This team does NOT deserve to go to the big dance. They are hard to watch with mediocre coaching and all of the turnovers which definitely cost them the game tonight. They look more like a high school JV team. Once again, we’re learning every game why fla ran him off. Pathetic performance. They can’t keep waiting until the second half to start playing.

The downward UGA spiral continues. Poor call by Mediocre Mike.

I can't watch this anymore. Zero offensive strategy. Defense under the rim is non-existent — how many times can a team make an uncontested layup before a coach adjusts to do something about it. Answer? Tonight. Nope. This NCAA Tourney dream is just that. If they squeak in we can hear Mike slobber about possibilities ( I suppose that's his job) but the reality is one more game watching the same thing we've seen all season. Infuriating.

And why when a UGA player has the ball do the other 4 just sit there and stare? NO MOVEMENT! Help the guy!

Not a basketball guy but it does seem like we are always a play away or a turnover away or a defensive stop away. We just can't seem to turn the corner. UGA seems able to recruit better now and the team is playing better. Just can't seem to take that final step.

It’s been the same story every year since the Herrick’s left. Dawgs can’t hold the ball, can’t shoot, miss free throws & can’t get over the hump in SEC games! They play great for 20 minutes. Too bad it’s a 40 minute game. This team should be at least 7-4 if not 8-3 in the conference. The talent is there. With no ability to win on the road & games against A&M, Auburn, Florida, & Mizzou left, Dawgs at most are NIT bound again that is unless a tornado hits Bridgestone Arena!

Please eliminate both basketball teams. This would save so much money and we could use the money saved to what really matters: FOOTBALL!!

SSDG, maybe a practice where they just shoot foul shots? Nah I don't see the field of 64 at all. NIT, NIT!

The unloading on Mike White here is over-the-top. Y'all seem to expect us to turn overnight into Kentucky.

White inherited a program in disarray (6-26 in Crean's last year) and has improved it. This is our best team since 2015. Maybe he's not the guy to take us all the way, but he continues to rebuild the program. Until we go into reverse, he's earned our thanks and another year at the helm.

UGA is also competing in a league that is incredibly deep — maybe the deepest conference in NCAA history. If we get into the tournament (and three more wins should at least result in a play-in spot), it will be despite that and it will be the first time in a decade.

Yes, the in-game coaching can be questioned. Fair enough. We absolutely should have won a game in which the opponent only hit a third of its free throws. But the recruiting has been excellent, and the players have shown real growth, particularly Demary.

This team has several weaknesses. One of them is that we lack a guard who can keep up on defense with speedy little points like Hubbard and Zakai Zeigler. So that played to Miss State's strength.

Next year, despite losing Newell, our front line will likely be deep (even if we lose 1-2 guys in the portal), and our two starting guards will return. White needs to reel in a transferring guard with speed and a defensive mindset and a ball handler to take some of the load off Demary (or maybe Drezgic can be that guy). And Cain needs to recover his shooting.

    16-16 / 6-12

    20-17 / 6-12

16-8 / 4-7 and probably goes 2-5 in the last 7 SEC games which would = 18-13 / 6-12 which equals little improvement with much more talent this year.

Three years is not overnight @CandlerPark. Mediocre Mike is what he is…the talent he squandered at Florida is proof, he is not a very good x's and o's coach.

You left out 6-26, which is the mess he came in on. I’d say that going from six wins to 19 or 18 is an improvement.

You’re right that he isn’t good at X’s and O’s. But he seems to be pretty good at talent development and quite good at recruitment.

@blawless if you’re really a UGA fan and/or grad & not just a troll..,why would you not want every facet at in Athens to be excellent ? From the basketball team to the business school? **** would someone only want to be good at one sport ? If you do then you aren’t a uga fan. You might be a Kirby fan Circa 2017 or a football fan but you aren’t a fan of the university & frankly ate part of the problem
