Talk about ignoring the obvious story. Evan’s was forced out of his position as UGA AD after his DUI and embarrassing behavior. It is impossible to believe that he won’t be biased against UGA, especially given his current role at a Big10 school.

You have got to be kidding me.

Impossible to believe? I don't think so. The DUI, for which he pled guilty, happened nearly 15 years ago. He starred in a PSA telling students and fans not to drink and drive. His exact words were, "If you drink and drive, you lose." He apologized twice, said he “failed miserably” as a leader and representative of Georgia. It's his alma mater for Heaven's sake. He was 40 years old at the time and dude is now 55. UGA did make him the SEC's first black AD.

In 2015, he called his parting with Georgia "the best decision at that time for all concerned…..Will I come back to Georgia at some point in time?" said Evans, who said he watched all Georgia's football games on TV last season. "Of course, it's my alma mater, I played there. I love Georgia. Georgia was great to me."

There is little reason for him to have any animosity or bias toward UGA. People do mature and learn.

    I remember Damon Evans 🤣🤣

I believe the PSA’s were before the DUI which was part of the hypocrisy. He also tried to bribe the officer and began to cry when he realized all of it (including the red panties he was clutching) happened 5 minites before his new contract was to take effect.

Do people mature? Sure they do. But they also hold grudges. Given how political the CFP is, I am not willing to give anyone the benefit of the doubt.

Yes they were before, exactly why he has no reason to hold UGA responsible. His actions were his, nothing to do with UGA. 5 years down the road, he still believes the right thing happened and he still loves UGA. Considering he's an alum, was close with Vince, still watches UGA games, still loves what the school did for him, what reason would there be to hold a grudge when he's the one who created the situation?

I'd pick him 100 times out of 100 over departing Warde Manuel.

Last years committee was a joke . I didn’t think you could drop the ball with 12 teams but they did . What a horrible committee last year . Let’s hope this one has more football sense .

I don’t believe a committee with no firm criteria for ranking teams will ever be consistent from year to year. Too much subjectivity and bias involved. I’m starting to think the SEC and Big10 need to form their own league to determine a champion from among them. Reshuffle the teams, dropping perennial losers and replace with the best teams from other conferences. Make the conferences smaller and more competitive top to bottom. Let each conference determine its top two teams for a 4 team playoff through a tournament. SOS will be less of a factor that way. Seeding can be done by a small committee using a stats based computer model. If it gets the seeding wrong it is not the end of the world.
