I think Journalists and commentators are more worried about Stockton that we (the fans) are. We know how long Stockton has been on campus, practicing and preparing and know the skills he possessed in High School. We saw a lot to be excited about with him and know where the REAL blame was (OL was part of it). Heck, receivers were catching the ball a lot better for Gunner vs Beck. This game is also HEAVILY about emotion and focus and Stockton is a far better influence than Beck was. Remember when Beck played in the G Day game maybe his Sophomore year and he looked absolutely AWFUL and we all assumed he'd transfer? Yeah, he made a lot of improvements and I think people criticizing Gunner are going to be very surprised with how he does this year… assuming we can get him time to throw.
Excellent comment! I couldn't agree more..GoDAWGS!
My belief is still that overall experience trumps talent in this day and age of college football. Gunner has been in the Dawg's system for years which certainly counts for a LOT. He played pretty well against ND and looked good. However, game experience is going to be key to his true development. I just hope he doesn't learn too many hard lessons at the expense of a WIN during the season in that development. I'm certainly pulling for him.
Wow !! All I can say to that is Amen Brother !! 😀
Gunner is a true Dawg. He’s got grit. He’s a leader. He can sling it. He can run it. He’s tough. He’s a football player. Perhaps most importantly, his teammates love the guy. They’ll play hard for Gunner. He perked the whole team up against Texas. I like what I see in Gunner.
