You are very correct..Fox did make it to the NCAA Tourney, my apologies. As for mediocre basketball coaches at UGA, it seems to be an endless cycle. Like I stated, the only true, dedicated coach they've had the past 45+ years is Hugh Durham. Tubby Smith was a good coach, but had no dedication, he bolted for Kentucky at the 1st chance he got. I really couldnt really blame him for doing that. He had a choice..Coach at a school that competes for SEC, and National titles, or stay at a school that isn't as serious about basketball and rarely makes the NCAA Tourney? Thats not a hard decision to make. Hopefully White can keep improving the team year after year ( if hes around long enough). No doubt it'll be a challenge, especially when your best players are usually 1 and done and headed to the NBA, or transfer to another school. If White can recruit, and retain a few players he may be able to make UGA a decent basketball school, no reason they shouldnt be. The athletic administration needs to pump more than just a few dollars into the basketball team and help White elevate the program. If not, I'm afraid we are in for a lot of the same average basketball of years past.

If you don’t know that Fox made the tournament twice at UGA(he also made it at Nevada & actually won a game) then maybe just maybe you haven’t followed UGA basketball’ very closely? White is a better recruiter but poorer game coach than Fox. All in all a wash. And just like Fox eventually Mike will get fired & go be an asst somewhere. Or get into administration like the rest of his family. He would actually prob be good at that. As for Tubby UK was his dream job. He told Dooley before he was hired it was the only school he would leave for. Hence no buyout money paid to UGA. He turned down other offers. He was building something special. But I certainly understand leaving for Kentucky

Forgetting is part of growing old lol but you're correct, during the time Fox was coach, UGA basketball was an afterthought with me.My hopes changed when Crean was hired, but after 2 seasons I could see he was just another average coach, and my hopes were dashed. White has shown improvement, but there's still a lot of room for this team/coach to improve upon..GoDAWGS!
