Mike Bobo will get his year to see if he can score at least 37 pts a game. Obviously, Finebaum doesn't agree. Mike isn't elite, but he isn't horrible. His allegiance to his O Line coach is a problem, but both of them will get their chance this year. The talent is there, so they can't hide. We'll see. Given the Millions paid to these guys, they wouldn't have gotten the chance from me, but Kirby believes otherwise. And as so many like to say on this section, In Kirby we trust.
I agree with Finebaum.
Finebaum is an idiot who just says things for clicks. Bobo isn’t elite…he’s not on the same level as Monken, but he’s as good as most sec OCs. Monken or anyone would have struggled with that o line last season. Now I have no idea why the O line coach is back but that’s another subject
Paul never played football, but he was on the cheerleading team so I guess he can say he was around it.
Mike Bobo, friend of Kirby Smart, an inferior offensive coordinator….so saith Paul Finebaum, the ESPN mouthpiece who brought a 60's/70's rasslin perspective to SEC football, The biggest Nick Saban/ Miss Terry homer, the bald, big eared Jewish Stephen A…..I'm thinkin he missed Mike & The Dawgs spotting the Rocky Top Hounds 17, then evening it up in the second then shutting out The Eurange Vols in the second half to defeat Paul's alma mater 31/17…..a legitimate college football analyst would be a bit more circumspect. Paul is ESPN….enough said. I'm thinking we'll hear copious mea culpas from ole Paul in January 2026…..as far as Gunnar, maybe not the best in D-1, but wait….the season is before us….the dimes he was droppin Saturday and the loaded Dawg receiver magazine portends a whole lot more passing TD's in 25 than 24 or 23!

It’s not like he’s lying… Bobo is not a great offensive coordinator nor can he recruit against the big name coaches. Look at his track record or recruiting QB’s and ask yourselves why doesn’t anyone want to play in his offense?
That's why Kirby Smart, widely regarded as the best coach in college football, keeps Mike around, right? Ole Kirby just doesn't have a clue about coaching talent. It also explains why our recruiting ranking is always so low; nobody wants to play for the Dawgs!

YET! Just watch what he's putting together....this year, with only the finest of materials, across the board.
IMO…."Nobody" can say he had that, last year. Not to mention the fact, youth & injuries had him "chicken winged" from jump street. So, you can't use last season, as a true representation of a Bobo data point. Give him time, and I believe he will make the UGA 2012 offense blush.
This is the year, Bobo makes a name for himself. He's had a lousy run of luck, since his last UGA stint....IMO.
I'd rather have Bobo, than 99.8% of the OC's on the board, now. I don't see anybody else lighting the world on fire. Maybe OSU's OC, with stable of athletes rarely put together on one team.
I'm gonna tell you, what most pundits don't seem to understand. Lol...the years of the "offensive schemers & wizards"....in the upper CFB and NFL ranks.…is, for all intents and purposes, O.V.E.R.
It's about individual athleticism & preparation, now. That trumps scheme....all day long. Which is what I believe Kirby Smart was saying...when he said, recruiting is 75% of the game [something like that].
Right after they beat the tar out of Mullin's Gators, if i'm not mistaken. Lol. Go figure! Wasn't Mullins supposed to be a "great coordinator & offensive genius"? Remember who Mullins made his name with...and, the players HE had. Yeah!...Genius! Lol

From what I have heard about the G Day game was that the OL whipped the DL pretty good in the second half. I don't think the OL and the receivers dropping balls will be the culprit if they don't win another championship. There has been positive reviews on the DL as well throughout spring. Bottom line is EVERY playoff team from 2024 has taken a step back. Dawgs have a good of a chance as any.
Speaking just For Me, it’s one thing when we Dawgs fans ( family) criticize coaches and players in house. It’s a whole other when Finebaum the Saban Worshiper bashes them on a National basis !! He likes to bash on our @Mike Griffith to. We Defend Our House !! Go Dawgs !!!

Bobo continues to perform exactly as he has throughout his career—just look at his track record. The results have been consistent, year after year. There’s no need to wait another season hoping for improvement. If there was no discernible progress during two years under Monken’s guidance, you won’t find it now. I don’t need Finebaum to validate what’s already obvious.
My concerns now go beyond just play-calling. It’s the broader impact Bobo is having—particularly on quarterback recruiting, development, and leadership. Beck and Curtis both decommitted, and that speaks volumes.
