The problem with the portal is that those guys want money, and they want to play. The portal isn't a place to shop for backups…
Yeah, it just doesn't seem to fit our program to have a Portal QB. I feel like Smart isn't giving them the REAL picture when he indicates that they'll be able to "compete for the job". No. They have a 0% chance of starting this year and only a small chance of starting next year. I feel bad for people like Reshada that never had a shot.
I'd prefer to see more Lineman and other core positions that can be swapped in and out.
I'd also like to add that IF a portal QB at this time was good enough to beat out Gunner or Pugs, he's wouldn't be in the portal. Ginn, Montgomery and Millender are "Georgia Guys" and are way ahead of any non-Georgia import…..again, what I saw Saturday, I'd quickly give Ginn first dibs if GS & RP were unavailable and feel **** confidant that Millender has the potential to be another SBIV along with Montgomery when he's all healed up.
