Georgia Tech beat poor Miami last year, so we know Caldwell wasn't after great coaching. To pretend it was anything but money is ridiculous. I'm sorry but that should be a blinking red light for NFL teams.
Maybe it's all for the best that Can'twell didn't commit to Georgia. I doubt if mercenaries win national championship very often. Of course, last year was an exception to the rule.
When we watch and listen to someone like Cantwell, it’s not hard to determine a baseline when it comes to how he responds to certain questions/situations. From what I’ve seen and heard he has typically given somewhat measured responses that have a certain tempo, thoughtfulness and depth to them. However, the most recent interviews, coupled with the announcement of his school choice, have seemed way off. I believe he wanted to go to UGA, but his parents are in control a lot more than we can imagine. I also want to touch on this: I would have been just as disgusted had UGA ponied up such a grotesque amount of money.

At a public university, NIL agreements may be subject to disclosure if:
I'm not so sure that a player at a public university can hide behind some ND clause if he is going to wear the university logo, practice in the university facilities, etc.
Miami is a private university.
He'll probably hit the portal after his first year after he realizes Miami's coaching staff is not providing the development he was looking for.

Cantwell built such a great relationship with Miami after only two visits, March 2025 & May 2025 just before he made his 6th visit to Athens? The only other school he visited as much as UGA was his home state Mizzou with 6 visits there as well. Nothing but “Moneyball”!! NFL Super Agent Drew Rosenhaus now jumping into the NIL business with its 10%-20% agents share arranges last minute visit to leading Dawgs forcing Miami to open up their checkbook significantly. Unfortunately for college athletics, bidding wars for unproven prospects is just beginning. With LLC’s, private equity, & corporate naming rights to stadiums & mascots the rivalries & traditions of Saturday afternoons “tween the hedges” are fading fast! Before long we will see “Hairy the Home Depot Dawg” lead the team into “Delta Airlines Sanford Stadium at Dooley Mercedes Benz Field” located here on the beautiful “AT&T University of Georgia Campus”!!!
