Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

I think Kirby takes some of those broken birds under his wing....and, tries to help them. If they convince him, they want to help themselves, that is. Imo...Scott Cochran & Eric Gilbert fell into that category. Cochran was helped...not sure about Gilbert.
I think it's the duty of someone in Kirby's position...to reach out and, try to help as many of those promising...but, mistake proned, young athletes, as the Program can handle. There are many young athletes, these days, that.…[through no fault of their own]...didn't get the proper home-training and guidance growing up.
Kirby has been doing the "Big Brother" thing, since he was at Bama and, so did Saban. Both of em had their share of saves...with, a few losses.
I imagine it's pretty tough, deciding which ones to invest your time in.…and, which ones to turn your back on. I'm sure it has something to do with "connection" and "relationships". Lol
Oh yeah....and, Florida has Always...recruited from the bottom, up. Always. Even under Steve Spurrier & Urban Meyer.
The point is that UGA has SELECTIVELY taken risks in the past. Now, under the current NIL environment, MORE risks will need to be taken. How did that work out for Mullin? The program fell apart and he got fired.
Yes CKS will work harder during "recruiting season" and get more, better players. But he will be forced to take more chances with riskier players. It is inevitable under the current system. AND UGA putting money in the pockets of young risky players. Recipe for disaster. Already seeing "Another UGA player arrested" on another teams chat board. (7Cloud not technically a UGA player) It is logical to expect more bad publicity on a program trying to shake a bad reputation rap.
IF next ('26) year's D under performs think about if it would've been better with Justus Terry, Atkinson and James Johnson in the line up. Not to mention Caleb Downs this season.
Agreed, he should have however, both of them should have chosen to end the relationship. Again, not knowing the specifics here but there are definitely some cases where the female will continue because they see future dollar signs.
Some people are just toxic together.
Contrary to what some people seem to be saying on this thread, I think Georgia should stick to its high character/standards, and NOT follow others into the cesspool. Compassion, yes. Second chances, maybe. Sell your soul, hell no. Go Dawgs!
You're not wrong, regarding the talent bin. It's not as deep as it was. I just don't think Kirby will fall into that trap. It's the surest way to infect your program.
The incoming talent might be a little thinner...and the bench a little shorter...as it is for everyone. But....imo.…you can't mitigate that by capitulating to someone else's standard, out of a sense of Desperation and Fan Pressure. I.e., Panic. Lol
You still have to recruit "Character & Athleticism"....no matter how many "Stars" are before the name. You can teach football, easier than you can teach 18 yrs worth of character....in a 3 year period.
I wouldn't compromise The UGA Standard, in favor of immediate gratification. I'm gonna miss it, though. Makes me mad as hell, that I waited my whole life to see UGA Football have this kind of success....and, They CHANGE THE FREAKIN' RULES!!! Lol...I can't believe the lousy luck and timing.
It's gonna be tougher on Kirby and Staff, no doubt. But, they can afford to hire an Army of Coaches and support staff, now....And, Coach em up, better than the other guy. Which is what they've been doing, for the most part.
"Police allege that “Cloud did knowingly cause physical contact with another person, in a rude, angry or insulting manner.”….this has got to be the most ambiguous, devoid of specific actionable behavior charge I believe I have ever heard….essentially his rude, angry, insulting words assaulted the victims hears…..pay a settlement to drop charges……come to the realization that immaturity/ignorance often makes victims of potentially wealthy individuals….Seven learn your lesson and get your happy ass to Athens, away from all of his "triggers" and focus your charming personality on oppositional victims on Saturdays.
