Great to hear from Kirby. If holding other team members "accountable " is truly part of this young team's DNA, then I'll be ready to see at least (1) vocal leader step up on both sides of the ball and take the reins. We lacked that leadership, drive, and intensity last season.
Hallelujah! I think you hit the nail on the head, even though few in the press seem to mention it. There's been a lot of talk about what CB did or didn't do last year, especially vs. SBIV, but little about the fact that there just wasn't a real "fire 'em up" leader on either side of the ball, which the '21 and '22 had several of. I know many folks didn't miss JDJ when he went to UK, but I really missed his willingness to step up and challenge his own teammates, especially during game time.
I'm with many of the DN posters of the past few weeks: despite the youth of the team, I'm actually really optimistic. I think we will have some vibrant in-game leaders step up in '25… on-field leadership makes a huge difference, as was shown in two national championship teams for UGA :)
