My heavens, they have Clemson ranked ahead of us. What a depressing thought.
Ha Ha….not too worried about that!!
Dabo has been talking up clemson this offseason, I guess it worked, being ranked #4. It definitely isnt based off last season, clemson was an average team against several teams last season, a few being against not so good acc schools.
lucydog, what grieves me is knowing that if the Bucknuts beat Arch & the Horns in what I see as a close contest….Penn St will slide to #1 having decimated the Nevada Wolf Pack….#8 in the mighty Mountain West……but not to worry, The Nuts will make running up the score and skinin cats an art form against the Grambling Tiredgers and the Ohio Bubby Cats getting ready for the Washington Huskerdos……..Rankings……all the Dawgs have to focus on is winning every week against cupcakes, wanna-bees, & 5 ranked SEC Behemoths.
ClemgooberU ahead of UGA? Now that's funny right there…
You obviously don't follow Clemson football or other CFB teams. This is Clemson's best team since they had Sunshine Jesus and DW24 at QB.
This is a make or break season for Clemson. Clemson builds their team around 5* QB's and WR's and a strong DL. If they fail to make a big splash this season there is a good chance there are no more 5* QB's in the near future. This year is critical for Clemson's program's future.
That being said, Clemson is loaded with talent. Right now Clemson has 3 players forecasted to go in the top 10 of the '26 NFL draft. That is not including 5* LB Sammy Brown, All ACC CB Avieon Terrell and 5* LB transfer (Alabama) Jeremiah Alexander. Or the senior laden OL. Or two 5* So WR's.
Unlike last year, Clemson/UGA would be a good game this year. Clemson probably beats a ranked LSU team week 1. Clemson's weakness is depth. Their recruiting classes have been small and consequently lower rated. Their per recruit rankings are on par with UGA. Because of the limited depth they play freshmen and don't have the depth that top teams usually have had. There is a chance they go undefeated this year until the playoffs. Unless GS is really good, Clemson will have a better record at the end of the year than UGA.
Not buying the Clemson hype at all.
More plausible they have two losses by week 3 (LSU, Gnats) than it is they’re actually the fourth best team in the country. I’m not a gambling man, but this is tempting.
Clemson sucks you Clemson lover and so does anyone coming on here defending and justifying their ranking ahead of UGA.
Hear that? Its the Transfer Portal calling. Dabo's TigerNation wants you.
Since its still talking season lol heres a fun fact..ALL 3 of clemsons national titles came with a former GA HS QB at the helm for clemson. Homer Jordan-Athens, Deshaun Watson-Gainesville, Trevor Lawrence-Cartersville..GoDAWGS!
I’m not a believer in Clemson. They weren’t that good last season. Klubnik did not impress me in our game with them. Their defense has some guys, Terrell and Woods especially. Sammy Brown is a great athlete but I don’t know how instinctive he is as an LB. Their OL is experienced and mediocre. Not exactly winning combo. That OL we thrashed in 21 was fairly experienced too.
They will likely contended for the ACC bc it is the ACC, but I’m not a believer in them going far in the playoff.
If they make the playoffs, I'm with you, I dont see them winning more than 1 playoff games, if that.
"it is wise to study one's adversaries", Jack Ryan. Which is something you clearly don't do. But go ahead and stick your head back in the sand. It is your best angle. Excuse me for "justifying their ranking ahead of UGA" with facts. Since you obviously don't read much, just so you know, Clemson fans don't call Trevor Lawrence Sunshine Jesus. They do call Deshawn Watson DW4. I call him DW24, not for his jersey number, but for the 24 women that sued him for molestation.
@1SICemDAWGS1 That is a fun fact and one that I am well aware of. Clemson's team and tradition is built on State of GA players. That is why I follow what they are doing. W/o GA players Clemson would be a 2nd rate program. It would be nice for UGA to keep all the great GA players that go to Clemson. I've said it many times over that only CFB fans in GA know who Trevor Lawrence is but 2* SBIV will probably be Governor of GA one day.
@Kasey First, unlike UGA, Clemson got better as the year progressed in '24. Probably because their 2 5* WR's were brought along relatively slowly. Hey don't shoot the messenger that TJ Parker (GA) , 5* Peter Woods and 5* QB Klubnik are all expected to be very high draft choices in '26. Not my words. The words of NFL scouts. Parker (overlooked by you) is actually their highest rated draft prospect. 20 TFL and 11 sacks in '24.
Klubnik threw for 336 yards and 3 TD's vs TX in the playoffs. After a bad 2nd Q, Clemson outscored TX in the 2nd half. CBeck? Threw for 56 yards in a half vs TX in the SECCG. Clemson's OL was good enough to allow Klubnik to throw for 3639 yards and 36 TD's in '24. They are also coached by Matt Luke, now beginning his 2nd season there. It is very myopic not to expect that OL (or team) to improve this year.
I like that last portion..GA fans know who Trevor Lawrence is but 2* Stetson Bennett will be the Governor of GA 1 day, a fact is a fact. You put a spin on it i didn't even consider in the big picture..GoDAWGS!
Previous post should have said..Probably be governor, not will be.
nfl scouts aren’t saying that at all. Clickbait artists doing way too early draft lists are saying that. So much can change between now and then. Klubnik could go high I suppose with a good season. But the mediocrity of Trevor might turn some teams off.
Peter Woods is a little undersized so I’m not sure he will go top 10. Certainly could go first round as he’s a very good player at a premium position.
The WRs are good that’s true. But if they can’t run the ball it won’t matter. Mafah the cheap shot artist is gone and I’m not sure who they have coming up. Whoever it is will be inexperienced.
