Wow Jeff, interesting analysis. So we've got more (5) stars (10-13 players depending on what service you use to rank them) on defense this season than we had on that suffocating, crushing, and elite D in 2021 that basically won the Natty for us. That's amazing.

SO, basically, there's no excuses this season in having a porous defense that can't stop the run, contain the edge, or cover any receiver in college football…Right? Lanning and Schumann were the D coordinators…at least we've still got Glenn.

We'll see…hoping so. Gotta keep the injury bug away…

BTW….Texas reportedly spent $40M on their team this year between retention and transfers. I guess we'll see if they got their money's worth.

Eh. I mean, people complain about NIL and then seem to forget how coaches salaries continue to go up and up. Smart is making $13.3 Million, so if the University can comfortably afford that then it can throw in another $14 million especially when factoring in sponsorships and such from companies. I admit that I don't 100% know how NIL works and whether Universities get a cut, but I'm sure they find a way.

don’t forget about those media rights deals that have grown exponentially after the last 25 years.

"But we will see the same national championship blueprint in place for at least the next three seasons in Athens." Let's hope this "blueprint" will carry over and make us successful—and the transfer portal doesn't steal all of our goodies.
