imageDwight Phillips shows he can be more than just a track guy for Georgia football

The second-year running back first found the end zone at the end of last season’s win over Florida. He scored the game’s final points on a four-yard run to cap off what had been a rather forgettable rivalry win.

Agree Connor. While he looked very good Saturday, it was against a clearly inferior opponent. However, his speed is impressive. Just as importantly, he seems to have good vision and makes the right cut at the right time. Of course, it won’t be that easy against better opposition

I wonder what his weaknesses are… just the weight? How good are his hands?

I like Dwight. Mild mannered, yet determined to be an outstanding football player as well as track star.

Good questions. Maybe he could be like Cash Jones. Maybe Cash is a smidge stronger where Dwight is a smidge faster ? Either way he’s pretty impressive when he gets some green grass in front of him !! He’s a speedster !!

Imo, Navy....Phillips was a pleasant surprise to me. And, the Dawgs always have 2 or 3 of those. Lol. He reminded me a lot of James Cook.

That's where I see him fitting in....Wheel route on the edge. Cook and McIntosh made a living on that edge. Lol...literally.

I'm proud of Phillips. You can tell he put in a lot of work. Made a helluva a leap from '24 to '25.

And...from what I saw on that offensive line, Saturday...he's not the only one.

Did you happen norice that the LG & LT were numbered 56 & 57, respectively. And, on the right side, the RG & RT were numbered 73 & 74, respectively.

I don't know if it's councidence....but, I've never seen that. Lol...talk about planning and process. If they had that planned...the plan was put into place, last year....i'd bet. Lol

Oh Yeah Peanut is a very pleasant surprise !! He’ll be a contributor for sure !! No I didn’t even realize about those Trench Monsters jersey numbers !! Just Wow !! Let’s hope KS and company start tightening the hatch bolts !! Gotta be ready for Knoxville !! Go Dawgs !!

Btw....there is no doubt in my mind, who the leader of the offensive line, truly is....#56, Micah Morris. Watch him block in the first 2 series…and, watch how the guys work with and around him.

Delp, Freeling, Morris, Bobo & Gaston (true Freshman)...are gonna open some holes this year. I don't care who they play.

I must be gettin' senile. Could've swore Bobo was on the right side. When back and looked....he played center. He was very active...lots of effort. That way I thought he was the LT, I guess. Lol

I can't speak to the play of #71 as he was on the other side of the field....but, the times I did notice him...I wasn't that impressed.

    Lol....so the #'s in reality...are as follows from left to right...tackle to tackle.....#57, #56, #74, #73, #71. Not so unusual, I guess. Lol

Man!!! I can't tell you how impressed i am with Morris. It looks like he's raising everybody's game, with his intensity. I like it. Lol

I was just looking at the numbers again...and, thinking...#50's are usually picked up by the guards.

I'm thinking, now...that, they are probably getting Gaston ready to take over the LT spot, next to Morris. That's what "we'd" do with a freshman that was capable of starting....experience & knowledge level, not withstanding. You pair em up with an experienced guy beside him….to direct his fury in the right direction.

Lol...that's how I was broke in. The guard got sick of me askin' questions. Lol

Peanut reminds me of Tron Jackson more than Cook.

Having an accomplished athlete as a parent, should speak volume of Peanuts work attitude. Seeing what it took for his father to be what he was, he probably understands what it is going to take to become the football player he wants to become.

Actually...even that, sort of parallels Cook's development. He has a Brother in the league, feeding him info and direction.

In any case....is there really any doubt as to the type of Team the Dawgs have, this year? Not to me. Lol

Can't wait to see him break a 60-80 yard TD run.

Once the young pups get right with comfort and experience [~5 games]....this is gonna be one dangerous football team. I expect a UGA beat down of Texas beyween the hedges.

Imo....By the time we get to that point in the season.…The Dawgs will be virtually unstoppable, with high powered offense and a defense that will rival 2021's. Not to mention a solid Special Teams Unit, as usual.

If everybody can stay relatively healthy, that is. Lol
