Funny...isn't it. The "National Media" [i.e., ESPN]....always seem to have a doubt when it comes to The Dawgs. The ONLY Team they can't allow themselves to Hype. Lol

I think the National Media has been struck by "DDS". DAWG Derangement Syndrome.

I wonder if there's a cure for it. The "Dawgs Winning" hasn't seemed to alleviate any of the symptoms. Though, now...at least they nod their head in the Dawgs direct to acknowledge their existence. Lol

I said 3 years ago...Kirby was gonna cause a lot of people to redefine how they evaluate teams...and, players. Statistics are irrelevant in the Bulldog Program. Don't look for explosive statistics on a UGA Player, till he gets to his first NFL Team.

Example: Not that other statistical data isn't useful....but....The "per play statistic" in most categories, is the only one that really matters to a coach or "player analyst"...imo.

I was down on the defense for not maintaining the shutout, until I pulled our the roster and realized Kirby was playing everyone. We've been asking for development and experience of the new players and we got it. Way to go Kirby...Go Dawgs!

I’m amazed that the media had Clemson at #4 to start the season

I wonder if it was a lack of respect for all those years that Georgia had subpar teams. Richt had a few good teams but none has reached the pinnacle like in the Smart era.

i think the simpler answer is the media is in the attention economy and Ohio, Bama, and Texas draw the most eyeballs. Georgia isn’t on that level off the field. Which is fine with me because I’d rather move in silence than have all eyes on us.

Honestly, UGA is playing so many new guys. I think the media is smart to wait and see.

I'm also not sold on our O Line coaching. I think it will cost us ballgames. Maybe Marshall was way, way better than expected, but I'm not convinced. The dawgs line needs to show something Saturday. I don't care who's hurt. Everyone has hurt players. Holes need to open, a push on 3rd down, and the pocket must be clean. Guards need to get their butt in gear and pull and block. There are comments out of Miami that Beck is happy to be playing behind that O Line.

Our OLine is not reason Beck threw 12 INT's last year.

I really don't care about the national media. Nor do I care how we are currently ranked. It's true we don't know much about our team yet. We also don't know much about any team yet. That's why they play the games, right?

There are legitimate concerns about our offensive line, at least maybe there are. We really don't know yet.

Nobody knows what will happen as this season plays out. Period. Yes, we can guess. Yes, I enjoy doing so, too, but…

What I know for sure is Kirby wants to win at least as much as even the most fanatic of fans. We can rest assured he is all about doing everything it takes, everything that can be done, to win the day to day battles which lead to games won and championships.

    Go, Dawgs!

are the reason why we couldn’t run the ball and support the passing game?

yeah we need to see a few 20 yard (or more) runs against this team. I don’t want to have to convert 4th downs to sustain drives either.

Go look at the Ole Miss or Alabama game last year and tell me the Oline didn't have something to do with his interceptions. And of course we all saw the injury at Tech. I think everyone saw the score last week and thinks we have it fixed. That team lost 78 players last year to the transfer portal. The game tape doesn't lie - we can't play that way against Tenn. People that aren't fans of UGA can see it. The third down numbers show it.

I'm not sure what we've got either. We should have romped 62-7; no explosive plays; third down conversations were a problem; just not sure what to think of this squad.

Look at the Florida game and see Beck throw right to a gator

  • BigDawg61BigDawg61 Posts: 2,956 ✭✭✭✭✭ Graduate

I'm amazed they didn't have the Dawgs ranked #1 or #2....but, look who does the Rankings. At least the Coaches had sense enough to vote em #3. Lol

    Go Dawgs!!!

  • BigDawg61BigDawg61 Posts: 2,956 ✭✭✭✭✭ Graduate

    Yep...that's it. Lol. "That's Entertainment"....and, "Business".

The only football involved that matters takes place on Saturday's. All that talkin stuff...is just that. And, every year....the Dawgs have to make believers out of em.

Or, cheaters...imo. See the manipulation of the 2023 polls to keep UGA out of the CFP. That way....Harbaugh, could justify his existence in CFB and validate the media that provided him cover. Till he was inevitably run out of the College Sports.

BUT....Michigan still gets to claim the trophy! Lol
