Second-quarter struggles illustrate issues with Georgia football offense

ATHENS â Inclement weather moved the start time for Saturdayâs game up an hour and then delayed the win over Austin Peay by an hour and 46 minutes.

Riveting play calls Bobo, just riveting. I seriously hope the vanilla ice cream is upgraded with sprinkles next week or it’s going to be a sad state of affairs on ole rocky flop…
Bama up 42-0 at the half. Tennessee scored 72. Meanwhile Bobo is scared to throw a pass more than 10 yards sideways. Pitiful. Pitiful. Did I mention pitiful? Next week might be a really bad wake up call for the Dawgs. I hope I'm wrong, but the offense is one dimensional. Stack the box, take away the run and UGA's in trouble. And forget playing from behind. Gunner doesn't see the field. He seems to be regressing actually. This baloney about Bobo having a vanilla plan so as not to tip his hand is just that, baloney. The coaches don't trust Stockton in the vertical passing game.
Could not agree more. We need to open up the offense and get Gunner going.
Good call! As you say 10rC should stack the box, takeaway the Dawgs ability to run and force Gunner to beat the Vols with his arm. Does anyone believe that is viable?
Very disappointed in the lack of effort today and the play calling. We don't need the Goal line problems AGAIN!!
People complaining about a vanilla/conservative game plan vs. Austin Peay simply have no clue. Of course the coaches wanted to see the offense move the ball with just the most basic of calls. Austin Peay was completely outclassed, and limiting the play calls was a way to challenge our guys. It also kept a lot of our offense off film. Do you seriously think Bobo was scared to call more aggressive plays? He was calling the game Kirby wanted and it makes perfect sense.
The issue is that we have a young team, and young teams can have a habit of playing down to the level of the opponent. Our defense didn't, but our offense did. We don't know what this team's ceiling is yet, but we'll find out a lot more about it next week. There are definitely concerning signs on offense, but they're not coming from the play calling. The game plan made perfect sense, given the opponent.
Stockton should be playing in the Sunbelt conference and Bobo should be his head coach and Searls the OC. Sorry, can't score on AP Ffrom the 1. Longest pass play 19 yrd, run play 23 yrds, give me a break. The only reason Gunner is starting is due to the fact that the Stockton family and the Bobo's are very close and Bobo made it clear early on that Gunner was going to start no matter what discouraging any transfers. Say bye bye to Curtis.
And in your weird view All that was on Gunner and the O Line gets a pass. So I guess Gunner was supposed to single handedly push Frazier in to the end zone on the run play from 6” out huh ? And it was the O Line that Kirby was screaming at not Gunner. As for Gunner though he didn’t have a TD he actually passed for more yds than last week and no INTs and no fumbles. Maybe the Dawgs could do much better if they hired you. You seem to have all the answers. Make CD Dawgs your OC. That’d be a laugh per second. 🙄
As much as I agree with many of the comments here (both positive and negative), after '21/'22 with Monken I do wonder if CKS being a "defensive genius" (I think he is, BTW) doesn't blind him a little to all the offensive woes of this year and last...
I guess we won't have to speculate much after next Saturday... fingers crossed!
Stockton is the one that has no confidence in himself. Scare to make a mistake. Would rather throw sideways or run it that throw a pick. Especially on our side of the field.
“That many chances we should always score," Smart said. “So, that wasn’t what we wanted, but just got to learn from it and get better.”
And yet here we are again, 3+ years removed from Todd Monken and Matt Luke…for crimmeny sake Kirby, you’d think We would have learned by now…
how’s Matt Luke doing at Clemson?
