Ethan Barbour needs ankle surgery after Georgia freshman tight end picks up 'significant' injury
ATHENS â Georgia coach Kirby Smart announced that freshman tight end Ethan Barbour will need ankle surgery and miss a significant amount of time.

I hate that for Ethan. Hopefully he will have a smooth recovery and rehab. That was a gruesome injury and would not wish that on anybody. Hoping the depth in the TE room will make this something that we hardly notice.
I didn't actually see Barbour's injury but I guess I'm glad I didn't. I remember watching Rosemy-Jacksaint and his foot flopping around and just thinking "yuck". On the good side, MRJS was also a freshman and came back and made it to the next level (currently in the CFL).
I hate it happened but hope for the best for the young man.

Hate it for Barbour. I seriously doubt he will be back at all this season - maybe by the playoffs or SECCG, but I'd be surprised if it's before then. Good to have Thorson and Everette back.

Sounds like a MAJOR invitation to really open up the vertical passing…if not now, then when?
Injuries are part of the game, which is why everyone says next man up. Hopefully, these younger guys recognize this and put in the work. It is a long season, and the injuries will mount and Georgia will only be as good as out depth allows.
I sure hate this happened to Barbour. He was on the up swing and full of promise. But he’ll be back and raging to get after it. You are in our thoughts and prayers young man for a full and speedy recovery.
