At least ND has been beaten by good ranked teams….Penn State is #2 based on wins against 3 No-Icing Cupcakes…Nevada, FIU, and Villanova……not to mention #1 TOS's signature win against a feckless Longhorns team, Grambling and Ohio.

Rankings only matter at the end of the season. Win out and it will handle itself. I’m still surprised that Gunner threw a long ball on 4th down instead of getting the first down then going for the end zone. If Landon drops it or catches it out bounds game is over.

Just stay in the top 5 for now. Way too early to be concerned much about rankings. Go Dawgs !!

Off topic sort of but look at Vandy making noise. Kirby’s right as rain, conference is getting tougher and tougher. I was sort of shocked at how they manhandled SC !! Very proud of our Dawgs !! Coming back from 21-7 at Neyland in front of over 100K screaming fans was no easy task !! This should go a long way to building confidence in Gunner and the entire team !!

Question for my fellow Dawgs fans. Talking in terms of Right Now ( Kirby always says ourselves) who is our most dangerous rival Bama, TX, Ole Miss or Auburn ( could even throw in KY as most of the time with exceptions they always give us a tough game ) ?? It’s just your opinions so you can’t be wrong. Based on Now mine is Auburn.

@navydawg, if you mean dangerous in terms of giving us a loss, then I would say probably Bama, they have the horses to do it. Auburn is too inconsistent, TX is a very different team than the one we played last year, and Ole Miss is back to outscoring you as their defense is pedestrian at best. But this is just another shellback's opinion.

Check out the AP's #2 Team....Penn State. With massive wins against the likes of Nevada, Florida International and Villanova. Lol...that's right!..."Villanova"…a basketball team.

Yet...they haven't dropped one iota and their schedule never gets questioned. Ask yourselves, why that is.

UGA draws 2 teams, I would argue are more competitive than anybody on Penn States FCS/PWR5 Schedule to-date.

Yet the Dawgs drop 3 spots in week 2...because they didn't score an early knockout punch, on their overmatched sparring partner....Marshall. A team that was still getting it's sea-legs back after a big roster turnover.

Well....at least the Coaches Poll appears semi-competent and thought out.

The AP is just throwing darts at a dartboard filled with all teams not from the BIg10...or Notre Dame. Colorado and Clemson have been on the "Protected List" up until now. Lol

Thx my Brother. Yeah Bama is the we haven’t been able to beat with any consistency. So your opinion is a good one. My reasoning on Auburn was playing at their house.

IMO...The Dawgs played the best team they will see, until they meet Texas. That Texas defense is for real. The offense?...not so much.

I would submit that Tennessee's Offense is better than Texas'...and, the defense MAY be as good. It's still a little early to tell exactly what everybody's gonna have at the end of the season.

Except for UGA.…just cause we "know" what the standard is...and the commitment to maintaining it. Lol....either ya know...or ya don't.

Speaking of Texas...Bet you're glad the Dawgs didn't sign Manning, now huh. Lol. The obvious distraction is exactly what i was worriedabout happening at UGA. Great kid...but, the pressure from all sides is crushing him and damaging his psyche....imo.

@Woodrow I was staying in conference to but GT with Haynes King looking pretty confident as of now. Course there’s Tons of football to be played, week 6 will start to clear the picture better I think. Oh and Thank You for your honorable and dedicated service in the World’s Greatest Navy !! Ole @BigDawg61 is also a Navy vet I’m pretty sure.

@BigDawg61 Very good opinions on your part to. Yep all these teams including UGA was banking on that last name. Gunner is significantly better at least thus far imo. Yeah living up to legends plural gotta be tough on Arch. But one thing for sure he’s being well paid !!
