Hot take: Auburn is an old series, but not a rival. No one cares whether Auburn wins or loses when they are not playing UGA. That’s not the same for Tennessee or Alabama. Swapping Auburn with Tennessee would have been ok with me.

Personally....I LOVE the schedule! We couldn't even imagine a schedule like this.…or Team like Kirby's....40, 50 years ago. To be fair....Erk Russell had a Kirby type Defense....but, he didn't have Kirby's annual talent pool.

45 years ago....If we could've written the schedule ourselves, it would've looked a lot like this one. However, It would've included Tennessee, with Clemson and GT as out-of-conf opponents. But, hey....everything can't be perfect.

Almost all of the SEC's Teams have extremely challenging schedules...save a few.

There were at least 2 teams that I know of.…that do not have to face a "top-tier team" in their "Big 3". Unless you want to count Arkansas, Mizzou and Texas A&M as " Top Tier". Lol.…none of which have a Championship between em....SEC or otherwise, that I'm aware of.…in the last 60 years.

    Go Dawgs!

The same used to be true for UGA. Things haven't always been this rosey in Athens....Nor, Tuscaloosa for that matter. Lol

You can bet your bottom buck, that the likes of Auburn, Florida and other former Champions, will soon be back to competing on a high level.

Imo, Programs competing at a high level, now....will falter in time, as they always do. Only, UGA will sustain…as long as they maintain "The Standard" that Kirby implemented.

When and if, Kirby leaves for whatever....He will leave UGA with a blueprint for other coaches that follow in his footsteps to build upon. "Better Never Rests"____CKS. Lol...Saban started sump'n.

SomethIng, Ray Goff....[and, apparently Deboer]....have failed to do. And, right under the nose of his AD....Vince Dooley. That told me...that Erk Russell was their "Glue". Just as Kirby, is this Program's "Glue". He won't allow another Goff situation....imo.

Too bad, though. That all those teams that rise and fall and rise, again....won't ever be at the Dawgs level. Due to Kirby's head start on building, a self sustaining, player-led Program.

Turns out...the biggest challenge has been finding kids that want to "do it the right way", now that Free-Agency is involved. But, I think that particular worm is starting to turn, with so many transfer failures.

I would be interested to know what the success rate is...for SEC Transfers vs CFB Transfers. For the player...and the school.

Speak for yourself I'd love to see Auburn beat Alabama November 29th.

Lol....they just, might. I am NOT impressed with Alabama.

Right now....I have more faith in GT making the SEC Championship Game, than any team from Alabama. And, they are even in the SEC..

Lol...But, if there is one from that stank State....Bama ain't it. So....GOOoooo WAR Eagles! UGA will knock both of them out of contention quick....but, I'd rather see a sister school win the Aub vs Bama game.

Auburn has close ties to Athens....going waaay back. Swapping Players, Coaches....Wives. Idk...Lol. Just kidding.

I would like to know why the schedule rotates every two years instead of every year. The teams played in ‘26 won’t be played again until ‘28, and ‘27 until ‘29. What was the reasoning for this?

I personally think Georgia got shafted again by the league office. It seems we get tougher games on the road in the same season more than other teams. Texas finally got a harder schedule than their first two years in the SEC, but still weaker than most.

    Go Dawgs! Beat bama!

I think you might be agreeing with me. You don’t really care that Auburn wins. You just want to see Bama lose. By default, that means you feel Bama is a bigger rival.

Auburn is not a rival? Surely you jest. Florida, Auburn and GT are the very essence of what a rival is-( perhaps with the techies losing some of that flavour by dropping out of the SEC and basically being mostly a non-relevant program for the last 50 years).
