- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Why Kirby Smart has a different view on Cam Newton than most Georgia fans

It's amazing what people give up just to have a great football team. Here's a guy that stole laptops, cheated and scammed, but he could win games, so Auburn took him and played him. No doubt his talent was off the charts, but his character was bottom feeder level. He and his father were demanding big money to play - perhaps setting the stage for the NIL we have today. Eight children by women he never married. What does that say to generations of kids. What does it say when football programs treat them like royalty. I've noticed that Auburn hasn't really won anything to speak of since Cam. When you throw integrity out the window, it rarely produces anything but disaster. I'm glad they are retiring his number. It really shows Auburn for it's true colors.
Who am I kidding, most programs do this. Even the NCAA swept Penn State's child molestation under the Rug, so we wouldn't lose a blue blood of college football. Notice they never win anything either. Weighed in the balance and found wanting.
Nicely done.
Go, Dawgs!
People shouldn't make others who are great in a sport their heroes. Micky Mantle, Pete Rose, Michael Jordan, even my beloved Chipper Jones, and the list goes on, are flawed people. I grew up like most people idolizing sports legends. The pedestal is just too high. Only one who deserves the pedestal for his greatness.
SC AM Newton is the honory Barn'er this weekend? Ain't that special, wasn't he the one that was quoted "When you have to run from the law and single mothers wanting child support as much as I do, running on the football field was a breeze"
He'll always be Scam Newton to me..
Never liked his showboating. Loved it when he got mad after losing the superbowl and walking out on the press conference.
only someone who protects your freedom with their life is a hero. No one should be idolized
Cam did have an aura about him that made those around him play better, but IMO—Stetson did it better.
