If Jared Curtis were the 147th ranked player, I dont think we'd see anything in print about Curtis. Committed players take unofficial, and official visits to other schools every year, nothing new about that. Curtis visiting vandy was just that, a free trip to see Vandy play, and take in College game day being there. If he flips, best of luck young man. If you stay a DAWG, thats great. If he remains a DAWG, I'm afraid either Puglisi, or Montgomery will hit the portal though.

Several analysts predicting Curtis signs with the Commodores, so we may play against him in 2026. I think he's gone. I certainly wouldn't blame him if his desire is to start somewhere next season.

It seems like players would choose to go to a school with the most stable head coaching situation in the country rather than to the numerous schools that are already in transition or could well be in that situation(South Carolina) next year.

I’ve Never ever professed to be an expert or coach on CFB and that certainly applies to Recruiting. I sure Don’t get the Star system and how it works. What I Do know is we got Two Great players from small schools that are readily recognized: that’s Ladd McConkey and Gunner Stockton there are plenty more from the past like Charlie Woener still in the NFL with the Falcons. But the recruiting agencies have my player I’m high on as a 3 star !! When he has THE Most rushing yds of All Ga. HS RBs !! This one might’ve hurt him more than helped him here: He set the record for Most Yds and Most TDs in a single game. He’s # 8 in Total TDs ( this is including WRs & RBs not Just RBs) with 32 TDs, 30 Rushing and 2 Receiving . He’s # 3 in Scoring.

That’s Ty Cummings of West Laurens HS committed to GSU. But he’s already said he would Love to be a Dawg !! He just rushed for 195 yds. and 8 yds. receiving in Rd. 3 of the playoffs vs Jenkins a Very Good HS in particular on Defense, WL managed to beat them by 5 points.

Now comes Mighty with emphasis on Mighty in the SemiFinals we’ll need Ty to Really play his best vs them !! I’m sure Hoping and pulling for WL but Jefferson is a Tremendously good team.

Back to recruiting though WL is a AAA school which is a small school but bigger than Ladd, Gunner, Charlie, and Vandergriff’s schools. To Me it seems like the recruiting agencies have snubbed this kid. I’ve never heard of or read of any off field issues with him. He’s very humble.

He got dinged up some vs Jenkins but when asked about him playing vs Jefferson WL HC said: When you ask Ty about injuries ( and he’s been injured several times) he Always says I’m fine, I’m good to go, Let’s play !! HC went on to say that TY would have to have one of his legs sawed off for Him to not want to play !!! Now that’s Dawg material right there !!

Dawgs have only One RB on this years class. He plays at a AAAAAA school. He has an excellent record. I’m Sure he’s a great player. Bigger school tougher competition right ? I Agree. That’s True. BUT he’s also surrounded by Better players as well. Like a Bigger and Better O Line more than apt ?? Not knocking WL’s O Line as they have done Great !!

This is the deepest WL has Ever been in the playoffs !! And Much of the credit for being there is because of Ty Cummings !! No disrespect for Ga. Southern but to me Ty going there is such a waste !! The top RB in AAA and most of Ga. in general is Amari Lattimer he’s going to Wisconsin of all places !! Unless the Dawgs flip him. That might be the reason for no offer to Ty.

Anywho it seems to me that recruiting is based Allot on favorites as much as Stats. Just my opinion.

I think sometimes these recruiting outlets had someone drive by the stadium and that’s how they ranked the player !! 🤣 I know in reality it’s probably difficult to measure these HS players potential but to me it just seems there’s to much distance sometimes from 3* to 4* and from 4* to 5*.

I Confess I’m biased about Ty Cummings But I think these recruiting outlets carry some bias of their own. It’s like once they select guys early and mid year it’s Extremely difficult for lower guys to Rise up. Though Ty has rose up some I honestly believe he should be a 4*

Though he’s Certainly Not the only reason WL is as deep as they are in the playoffs he’s a very critical part of Why. Off Topic I sure would love to see WL get past Jefferson to the Championship as they’d be on TV then !! My little ole town of Dexter’s team on TV !! Will wonders ever cease ??!!?? 🤣🤣
