I have always believed NotreDame has been one of the most over-hyped teams ever, except when they play us. But seriously, I believe they as well coached and get as much out of their players as any team in America under their current coach. THey are a tough knutt football team. And they are currently, maybe not at the first of the season, but now one of the top 5-6 teams in America, IMHO. it would be a shame to keep them out.

I know this sounds pessimistic but we have never beat Bama in Atlanta. My question is where will Georgia fall to if they lose?

ND has enough sense not to join a conference. They know the ND name will get them into the CFP

"Notre Dame has the No. 42 strength of schedule and is idle."

@Tswood1959 Absolutely! It doesn't matter if ND is #42 on the "strength of schedule" list, it only matters that your name is Notre Dame and you are #1 on the "strength of viewership" list. That is how the committee takes care of the network!

So…in the event of a SECCG loss, sounds like the Bama argument is that only SOS matters…winning them all is way overrated. Along that line of logic, why isn’t Wisconsin being considered for a CFP slot? After all I believe they have the number 1 SOS, who cares that they lost 8 of those games…

If Bama loses to the Dawgsthey should be out…period. That’s the way it worked in 2023, yes? A 12-0 regular season meant nothing when we lost in the SECCG! Win it on the field this weekend or shut up Bama…if you guys beat us again Saturday afternoon then yes, you deserve to be in…

7th or 8th with a historic home field first round game…not a bad consolation prize at all.

I have to add here, for all the gnashing of teeth from fans upset that the Dawgs have to play in the SECCG, they also have to love being in the center of the college football universe this weekend. We know the viewership ratings. This is always a great opportunity to show recruits what Georgia football is all about. We can always lose a big recruit to a team like Vandy, Arizona St., or Nebraska, but you come and play for the Georgia Bulldogs to be in moments like this! GATA

"Eyes on the set" matters. It's mostly driven by money, If they are close, ND will always get in - when they should be automatically disqualified for not playing the extra game like everyone else…sort of like Baylor & TCU was in '14. All the new format did was create more drama - drama/controversy sells, "same as it ever was".

They know what they are doing.

No way I am upset at "having" to play in the SECCG. The SEC is the strongest conference in the land and winning that is flat out tougher than a single elimination tournament, where one bad play, a fluke or referee interference can end it all. I'm sorry, the NC is important and cool but with the way this nonsense is laid out, the Conference is King to me and I want to crush alabama and win it.

Only then do I care about this tournament.

We dodged a bullet beating Tech perhaps. Lose to Tech and lose to BAMa and you have 3 losses. probably not getting in the playoffs, even though they say that playing in your conference championship would not count against you, even if you lose. I trust the playoff committee as far as I can throw them. Time to shut down the conference championship games IMO. Unless they give you the "lose and it won't keep you out in writing.

That wouldn't be the case, if the specific criteria was written down for everybody to see. 'Course....then, they'd be out of a job. Lol....we can do the "eye test" for ourselves. Heck...a lot of people would be without jobs

And....don't start with the "volunteerism" thing. They're gettin' paid....by somebody....in some way.

Lol....but, they can't be that transparent....cause Coaches and Fans would throw the "BS Flag" at some of the checkpoints they actually use...or don't, to keep some teams IN the CFP. Or, moreover....OUT of the CFP.

Gotta go to South Bend, Indiana....to see which way the wind blows. I.e., the "criteria". Lol
