Defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann looks to salvage a 2025 season that didnât go as planned
Theyâll meet on Saturday, as Alabama and Georgia meet in the 2025 SEC Championship Game. Schumann is Georgiaâs defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach. Before coming to Georgia, he worked as a student and graduate assistant for Alabama, his alma mater.

Speaking of assistant coaches Buster Faulkner is going to UF
I hate to hear of Faulkner going to UF - ouch. ouch. ouch.
Schumann’s defense allowed 13 third-down conversions in the first matchup against Alabama this season, the most ever in Kirby Smart’s tenure in Athens
I keep seeing this narrative repeated over and over……every time, the author will fail to mention that most of those third down conversions occurred in the first half when Bama scored their 24 points!
After Coach Schuman (and Coach Kirby) made their halftime adjustments, Bama was held to NO points and only three third down conversions in the second half….
The Dawgs lost by three points!
A drive- killing fumble, a dropped sure TD pass and a controversial decision not to kick a field goal….all contributed to that loss….none of which had to do with Coach Schuman’s second half defense!
Dawgs ROLL!
Thank you.
Go, Dawgs!
The one thing the article missed. The DC doesn’t play in the game, it’s up to the players you coach. From the games I saw there was a lot of offense holding that didn’t go in Georgia favor.

Is Haynes King going with him?
talk about a horrible article…. Connor is trash real talk.
What amazes me is when a team struggles, the Coach is the first to get scrutinized. In a lot of cases, it's the same coach when the team was doing well. In this particular case, Schumann did not forget how to call a defense in 2025. The hard truth is this is not one of his most talented defenses. There is no interior D-lineman that requires a constant double team. There is no unblockable Edge rusher. We have inexperience in the back end of the defense, but don't get me wrong, this is a talented team and the defense has definitely improved, but Schumann has not been the problem in my opinion.
Scoring D' has gone from 43rd in the country after end of September to #8 in the country - one spot ahead of Alabama.
Pretty sure he may watch the games, but he doesn't understand what he is seeing. Thinks the D' has done a heck of a job since the start of the year. Coaches and players should be recognized for it, not questioned…. very, very young and players have started to grow.
But don't stop him now - he's too busy playing "John Madden Football" and strategizing how to make the dawgs better - it works there, it will certainly work on the field.
Maybe the coaching staff will discover him and his much needed expertise/knowledge, and he will soon land that coaching job.
"reddawg1"—-99% sure that Haynes King has no eligibility left.
@reddawg1 I think HK has used all of his eligibility.
@GoodOlDawg
Yeh, I knew that. I was just making a point! He won't have King at Florida. Tech was more about King than Faulkner IMO.

Well...seein' as how "the media" doesn't see fit to add context, that would damage a narrative (Lol) ...here goes.
They scored 41 points on 4 Carson Beck turnovers. The first one, gave Bama the ball at the UGA 22 yd line, and pushed the score to 21-0.
The offense put UGA in a hole....not the defense. In that particular game.
Last I checked.…Stockton is quarterback, now....and. only has 1 interception. I don' believe he's "lost a fumble", yet....but, if he has, I think I can speak for Dawg Fans, when I say...he's forgiven.
Fixed it for you Connor. Please keep that positivity flowing old boy…and if you need any editing, call me.
And we condemn young kids when they jump from commitment to commitment…
Want to hear something funny? Over the summer, it was reported that Faulkner received a significant raise from Georgia Tech. Faulkner was given a two-year contract extension that will pay him $1.5 million per year becoming one of the highest paid assistants in the ACC and among the highest-paid offensive coordinators in the country, the largest assistant coaching contract ever given out at Georgia Tech…SOUNDS LIKE BF should be coaching with Kiff…
