@osmosiphobe…I might could agree that Stafford was borderline elite, although I still mostly believe he was simply a great, above average QB. He was elite in the history of UGA QBs, but he wasn't an elite QB in my eyes except for his arm strength. He was drafted as the #1 QB in 2009, but there were very few other really good QBs in the draft that year. That's another reason he decided to enter his junior year. Mark Sanchez went to the Jets at #5 and Josh Freeman went at #17. That was it for QBs drafted until much later in future rounds.

Stafford wasn't even considered as a finalist for the Heisman in 2007 or 8, and his college career completion % was only 57.1%. That wouldn't fly now. He reminded me of Jake Fromm with a better arm. Stafford was a great game manager. Aaron Murray was a better overall passer and had a higher completion rate. But Aaron didn't get drafted until the 5th round. Again, these guys were great for Georgia and broke records, but I don't consider them in the elite bunch of Top college QBs over the last 25 years. Stetson is the Georgia QB that gets mentioned mostly and is in many Top 25-30 QB lists for the last 25 years, but even he is not anywhere near the top of those lists.
