- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

The overlooked reason Georgia football is peaking entering the College Football Playoff
Probably about the level we expect," Smart said following Georgiaâs 28-7 win over Alabama. âI mean, we wanted to speed it up early because we got some talented young guys coming along.â
Comments
"So that’s saying that those guys we signed yesterday would be factors in our depth chart next year, and they’ve got to be ready to play faster because you just don’t have as many people.”….this could not be better….absolutely illuminates the "prima donna" demand of playing time as a freshman…..at UGA, you commit to the G, work to distinguish yourself as a TEAM value to the goal of winning every game, you will play….you embrace "NEXT MAN UP", you will play, willing to surrender your individual "glory" for TEAM, you will play……I've never been as optimistic about The Dawgs, as now…..
GOOOO DAWGS, SICEM!
The really good news. Since Freshmen are becoming more important, as is getting them reps to get ready, aren't we glad we have a post season to work towards next season. Bet Notre Dame didn't think of that when they yellowed out of their bowl game. Most of our Freshmen will have a mini season starting in a week or so.
"GtheGreek"—I couldn't agree more. I think next year's team is gonna be really good. I made a remark one time about Gunner having a run like Stetson did—wouldn't that be something to talk about? GO DAWGS
My only concern
Bye week- loss to Bama
Bye week- struggle to beat FU
3 week bye ?
Hot teams like to keep playing, see OhSt last year. The biggest reason I think we’ll be ok and up for the challenge this year vs last is that our first game will most likely be against a very familiar opponent, OM. We shall see. Either way, Sure has been a fun season watching this young talented team grow up. Having a QB that embraces team and leadership vs that self serving p we had last year has been the key. Hasn’t hurt that our receivers actually catch the ball now. Go dawgs. Looking forward to NY day…
Exactly !! Well said !! Kirby and our Dawgs embrace ALL games !! Keep Choppin !! Go Dawgs !!
I honestly believe for various reasons we already know that This Dawgs team has every bit as much potential to win the Natty as Any team in CFB if not more. Go Dawgs !!
Navy....imo....at the beginning of the season....UGA was equal to or greater than any team in CFB. To me it was obvious....despite some of the performances.
Those early games have been Kirby's team-building platform for quite a while, now. He isn't out to break statistical records that don't matter.
Like sacks, for instance....If they get a sack....Great! But, the real goal, is to affect the quarterback. Force him to make decisions before he's ready...and create turnover opportunities. Mission accomplished...imo.
IMO...Decades ago...The media, in effort to appeal to a wider audience, came up with these records and statistics to create interest. Women love that...it helps them connect to the game, since they never really played. Maybe, in the Powder Puff Game. Lol
Bottom line is....Big numbers on the Stat-Line....doesn't equal WINS. So, they aren't important in the grand scheme of things.
UGA WINS!!!! The only "Stat" that matters.
Is anyone really overlooking this? Isn't it one of the primary things we've talked about all year?
I, too, am excited about just how far these young Dawgs can go (provided they all stick around). But the future does indeed look bright.
I, for one, am not in the "blame Notre Dame" camp. They got royally screwed and sometimes you have to take a stand when folks do you wrong, even if that stand is unpopular or might be detrimental to you in the short term. If I was Notre Dame, I'd hold 15 practices anyway. If the NCAA tries to punish them, sue them. They would surely win. I think it's **** to say that the only time a team can hold post-season practices is if they make a bowl game. If a team wants to practice with no game in sight, why shouldn't they be allowed to? They're already working out and studying play books and having meetings. Might was well let them practice.
Said this on numerous sites and believe strongly that no Big 10 teams will make the championship game.
Thoughts?
Yep....I got UGA vs Oklahoma or Alabama.
And, a possible UGA vs Texas A&M Fiesta Bowl, in the Semi's.
I am not sold on The Big10, like some of these pundits and hype'sters. I think they're paper tigers. The SEC has been tempered by trench warfare all year.
While a few of their teams look good on paper....The Bigs can't match up on the field....imo
I've heard a lot about the momentum thing and how the long layoff could hurt, but this is the way its been for years and how it was four years ago when UGA won back to back championships. This staff knows how to prepared for an opponent with a four week layoff. I'll take the layoff and a chance to get heathy over playing a third game.
Technically last yr Ohio st had a bye b/c they did not play in the championship game. I think the biggest difference for us this yr is we are clicking and getting better consistently. I didn’t feel that way as we were progressing through last season. Also background and pretty much knowing who you are playing should be beneficial especially for preparing Toliver if Bobo is still out.
I went into bowl season last year thinking big10 was vastly inferior to SEC, but then they played the SEC vs. BIG 10 games…
OSU 42 Tennessee 7, USC 35 Texas A&M 31, Missouri 27 Iowa 24, Michigan 19 Alabama 13, Illinois 21 South Carolina 17, OSU 28 Texas 14.
What happened?
Last year, felt like an Off-Year, all way around to me. For everybody in the SEC, anyway. Saban was missing, and a lot of SEC talent fled to the Big10/12, last year and the year before [NiL/TP].
Maybe i'm off.…but, there seemed to be an unusual number of injuries costing playing-time. Not just for the Dawgs, either.
Whatever it was....they have it sorted out....and, the SEC is sailin' in the wind. While the BIGs have an uphill battle..imo. Lack of Iron to sharpen their Iron on.…in the BIGs.
Like UGA....The best players OSU faces, are on their team. But, the Dawgs have 6 or 8 teams on their schedule, that can give em a fight, in the trenches.
Not so, with OSU. They've got a whopping 2 or 3 teams on their schedule, that "might" matchup.
Imo....UGA is so far ahead of everybody else, right now....they can toy with OSU [or A&M], before breaking their heart. On the way to their 3rd Natty in 5 years.
Go Dawgs!!!
