So since you posted in anger I have the opinionated right to call you an idiot because you're grown and should know how to control your emotions before you say something. But no you're not an idiot you just said something in the heat of the moment. YOU ARE HUMAN!!!!

To ALL the ones who rush to judgement... let me guess you have NEVER done ANYYHING wrong in your entire life. I will wait. Yeap you have. ALL have fallen short!!! People do better with the quick to say what you would do. You same people probably have kids or grandkids who may perhaps do something wrong one day and you're going to want mercy. Remember that!!!!

And leave it to @Conner Riley to be so quick to write up a piece of negative material. Especially without all the facts coming out. Smh

I had the same thing happen at Publix. So much beeping going on around me, with my army and rock and roll ears, I thought it scanned. Then second guessed myself and looked. Shame is anybody else would have been told, ok just pay now. No arrest or handcuffs. Why didn't they pick the highest priced stuff? Bama or Gator players wouldn't have been arrested in their towns.

It's sad you have these two people, their lives could not be going any better, and this. You not only embarrass yourselves, but your families, teammates, coaches, and university. Not to mention, when it comes to trust, that doubt will always creep in. Hope they learn their lesson and good luck going forward.

I know when a item doesn't scan at the self checkout and I know I can't just walk out of the store without paying for stuff. Everyone knows. How do these guys pass their classes?

To claim you didn't know something didn't scan is a weak excuse and one that folks that steal come up with when they get caught.

It absolutely has to be the management who decides what the punishment or not should be, once they have the facts of course. The team members do not have responsibility nor experience to make such decisions. But, to be fair to the team, if the deed is not too egregious, perhaps it might be better to enact any punishment that might be warranted at the start of next season, not during the playoff.

My guess is those boys are getting a solid a$$ chewing about now by Kirby.

I believe there’s a lot to consider for CKS when deciding how to handle this. A punishment that includes a starter missing an entire playoff game or being dismissed from the team can carry some unintended consequences. Although we don’t yet know the details, their actions didn’t endanger their lives or the lives of any others and it was non- violent. So if they are genuinely contrite, cooperative, and respectful to the officers and the judge then stair running is definitely appropriate. If there was a pattern of problematic behavior then it would be a different situation.

Yeah right! They both used self-checkout and inadvertently, didn't scan all the items they placed in their bags. I always look for the best in people, but I am not naive. This is probably just the first time they have been caught. I do hope that getting arrested and being shamed scares them straight.
