It's at the top when you first start reading Navydawg. The future early enrollee was overcome with emotion when his high school career came to an end.

Wasn't it West Rome that won four in a row in the 80's?

Off topic but…Speaking of Lincoln County, a flash from the past came to mind, a little scatback who signed up in 1989 and played for the Dawgs from 90 to 92 and was a first round top3 NFL pick by the Phoenix Cardinals…what a career Garrison Hearst had. RBU alive and well…

“Just playing my last high school game with my teammates, who I grew up with. Just the people I love. My teammates. My coaches.”

For us ole school guys, this is music to our ears. All of us who have been “in the huddle” with our buddies, the friendships that last for a lifetime are invaluable. This young man seems to get that. That’s the kind of players you want on your team. Yes, talent is extremely important, but attitude is also important. Kaiden should be a DGD.

Off topic..but a huge congratulations to a DGD, Jarvis Jones, the Head Coach at his old HS, Carver-Columbus. 1st year as HC and he leads them to a perfect 15-0 record, and a state championship, wow!

I also brought up that name to my better half during the Lincoln Co/Bowdon game yesterday. He was a terror at Lincoln County, and just as good when he was at UGA. Garrison has always been 1 of my all time favorite RB's that wore the Red&Black.

Pretty sure it was Rome, they had 2 brothers on the team that were unstoppable. I want to say their last name was Killibrew? Cant remember back that far lol

I know the Stace crowd will fire off those anonymous vote down shots for me not being P C but sorry, can't resist…I still get a chuckle thinking about GHs opinion on being with "happy" players in the locker room and the sh htstorm that ensued…

I was wrong about the brothers part, there was only 1. But West Rome did win 4 titles in a row, 1982, 83, 84, and 85. I was thinking about a RB from East Rome, Lawrence "Larry" Kinnebrew. (They had 2 high schools back then and both were good, they merged in 1992 to form Rome HS.) Kinnebrew played at East Rome, Tenn.St., and several years in the NFL, and he was a load to bring down. I remember reading about him a lot in the Saturday morning AJC back then, when I was A LOT younger lol Furman Bisher was still with the AJC back then.
