That was a good read. Glad all involved are happy.
Well what was Kirby to say… Muschamp stabbed us in the back😂
@Tswood1959 Dawgnation claimed that, contra his analyst title, Muschamp's role was "unspecified." Was likely not guaranteed even that going forward. Non playcalling co-DC Travaris Robinson is the heir apparent when Glen Schumann gets hired away as head coach as early as after next season and is also a DB coach like Muschamp. The prior non-playcalling co-DC, Schumann, was 32 years old with no playcalling experience when Lanning left so Muschamp atepped in to help out. Now Schumann has 2 years of playcalling experience under his belt and no longer needs the help. 45 year old Robinson is far more experienced, including 4 years as DC at South Carolina plus a DB coach in the NFL, so he won't need help as the main DC when Schumann departs.
As other programs are not going to stop raiding the assistants that Kirby molds - I even expect Bobo to get another shot down the line - UGA needs that analyst spot to get someone in the pipeline to be a position coach down the line; the next Lanning or Schumann. There was never any expectation for a longtime DC and two time head coach like Muschamp to inhabit it for very long, especially in an era when he can make $1.5 million a year as DC and assistant head coach. And I still say that he will be the Texas HC when Sarkisian either gets fired or jumps back to the NFL or goes back to USC within 3 years.
To my knowledge as far as I know, Bobo has no ambition on returning to the head coach status again. As I recall, health is the primary issue for him, but he is fine health-wise for now.
