ESPN ranks KJ Bolden, Ellis Robinson IV among top returning NFL prospects
Georgia, which could have three first-round picks this year in the form of CJ Allen, Monroe Freeling and Zachariah Branch, has a boatload of talent returning for the 2026 season that will be in the 2027 NFL Draft class.

Nothing!
"Robinson, recently named the FWAA Freshman Defensive Player of the Year, “will need to add strength before heading to the NFL, but his ball skills and route recognition are among the best of any college corner,” Miller wrote."
@MikeGriffith it was great to see Robinson's growth and improvement toward the end of the season, and we all hope that he continues on that trajectory for the 2026 season. However, it is FAR TO EARLY to start using his name and 2027 NFL Draft Class in the same sentence. I like his chances for being a major force for the UGA Defense in 2026, and I'm excited to see how he stacks up against other CBs in the SEC, but our friend Mr. Miller over at ESPN should probably pump the brakes on the 2027 NFL Draft Class talk.
GO DAWGS!
If it's suggested that "our friend Mr Miller should pump the breaks on '27 NFL draft talk", why would a DN copy of the story be of any interest?
@GBAL Because the ESPN article by Matt Miller included KJ Bolden, for whom I believe there is enough resume` material to legitimately consider him as a high draft interest for the 2027 draft, if he continues to produce at an elite level in the 2026 season. "Pumping the breaks" on the Robinson consideration definitely wasn't intended to imply that he would not be an NFL prospect at some point in his career. He's shown a lot of potential, and he's in a great place for development, but any draft talk is really premature at this point.
"any draft talk is really pre-mature at this point"… is my point. Both these guys are legit prospects, no doubt. But if Miller should "put on the breaks", is it really worth repeating it and putting it out there again…foot off the break?
I misunderstood, I thought you were asking why I would be interested in reading it.
Yeah some of yall might need to pay closer attention. Assuming Ellis doesnt take a step back he is absolutely going to be one of the top corners drafted next year. If he has a year similar to how he played the second half of the season with the same or better ststistics he will push for a 1st rd pick and battle Leonard Moore from ND for the top corner drafted. I dont remember the exact stats but ellis got to a point where he was absolute lock down. Again I don't recall them exactly but it got to where guys were having a qbr of like 20 when throwing at him. Teams were completing less than 20% of passes at him, he was tied for the most interceptions in the sec. He has shown huge growth in the run game including a few big time hits. If he maintains the level he was playing at for the entirety of next season then it's almost impossible he doesn't go 1zt round. If he can mimick or some how keep that same level play and increase his interceptions that should firmly solidify him as cb #1 off the board. I do think it is a tall task. Moore is really good and has done it 2 yesrs in a row. Id still consider ellis as currently is at his best better than moores best, but its extremely close and debatable. If he somehow ups his numbers next yesr while playing at the same level he takes it assuming moore does not do the same or have a bigger break out.
I wish uga could get guys to stay and play their entire 4 years. It is a blessing and a curse. Great for the guys thst they are capable and great thst uga is able to get and develop elite players, but if more guys stayed for their last year it would really help uga get over the top. Instead of constantly replacing an elite proven starter we would have guys with loads of ecperienfe and primed to be the best players in college. Guys make the largest jumps in their stats in their 4th and 5th or 6th in some cases years. That is to be expected but if you look thr numbers typically go up gradually and typically kind of minimal from year to year. That id until you get into senior year snd you usually see the double jump or lead the nation type stats. Something thst really hurts uga imp. Imagine all the guys who left after year 3 or yesr 4 with an extra year bc of redshirt and think of the production they had and how much it would help to have that back but basically doubled. We would have had some seasons definitely turn out differently. Monroe leaving is a big loss. He should be a 1st round Pic. I get it but it sucks. I also think this is a risky move on his part as there are several ot/og with big name recognition and the hype in this class. I do think Monroe workouts will boost him but hopefully it is enough to make sure he goes 1st rd bc he is absolutely a 1st rd talent and deserving of it. Uga also needs to put an ol in the first after not having one last year. That an Monroe is our best bet bc its unlikely next year unless someone comes out of nowhere with development. Will have a shot with some young guys down the road but you never really know. Ive gotten off topic, but man it would be nice to hold onto some guys and get a 4th or 5th year out of them iin an attempt to make a runbfor fhamou8nshop one yesr when it all aligns and coming back would make sense or be the missing piece. There always risks but with the money made now the move isn't a one sided.
