@MontanaDawg Brought up a point in his response to Mike G. that leads me to a question. As usual from me probably a s t u p I d question.
So after tonight’s game how will the transfer process work for Miami and IN ? Or IS there even still a process for those two teams ?

Yall know where I’m heading with this. Any possibility of UGA picking up a transfer from one of these teams ? Question is not only to Montana but Anyone who cares to answer. I already have thoughts on it just want to feedback. Thanks in advance !!

    Couple of thoughts:

    1. Drew Bobo. Love him. Maybe that's reason enough to keep Mike as OC, doubt Drew stays if we fire his Dad.
    2. Amazed we're at 2. Seems we somehow snuck in near top, in same space as usual media favorites of Ohio State, Notre Dame, Texas, Indiana, Oregon, Penn St., Texas A&M.

No, it means UGA can still win it all in spite of the current OC.

LOLOL.....OSU #1. Smh....it won't end till Kirby beats em a couple more times. They had Sayin' and Smith THIS year. What good did it do em?

Do the National Media geniuses think Sayin and Smith are gonna improve so much, they can cover defense and the ground game?. And, overcome errant coaching decisions from Day? Lol

Nope....NIL/TP put an end to OSU's Big10 dominance....imo. They'll be lucky to make their Conference Title Game, next year. Lol....there's no telling who'll be the big Portal winner in Big10 Country....but, my money is on Indiana.

I love their coach. He's the Nick Saban of the Big10...imo. Kirby still has control of the SEC. The ACC is close to catching up to the Big10 & 12. Talent is scattered....which means Coaching is at a premium, right now.

It's just a matter of time, before we start seeing teams WIN with the wishbone. I think the worm is starting to turn back to the ground game.

A solid Passing game is complicated to teach & learn. If skill players aren't going to stick around long enough to learn the playbook.…offense will go back to the basics.

Afterall....there are more potentially great Running Backs, than there are great quarterbacks, wide receivers and defensive backs. Just a thought.

@navydawg…YES, absolutely any other team has the same 5-day window to pickup any Miami or Indiana players that enter the portal. However, some players from those (2) teams have already declared their intentions to enter the portal starting Tuesday. (5 players from Indiana, and 8 players from Miami). So, I'm not sure how many others that are not already a known entity will enter the portal.

BAMA at 17th will not make their fans happy! DeBoer has 2026 to get it right.

The "portal" only matters with younger players. Guys like Beck, that have graduated...can transfer anywhere and anytime they like. If I'm not mistaken.

Which means the top quarterbacks, wide receivers, running backs, Tackles & DB's that have completed their studies....are On The Market.

Beck got $4 million dollars for 1 year....and, ì'm betting he aint the only one. That's a helluva living for anybody....and, family security overrides loyalty to University, Coach or State, in most cases.

Imo....There's still a lot of "business" to be done, before next season. Lol

@BigDawg61…Yes, good point. Players who graduate after the portal closes can transfer at just about any time if they still have eligibility. I'm not sure if there are other exceptions. And that just adds to my point that there are still movements that will be happening beyond this week that could possibly make a difference for a team. I think there were over 4,000 players from FCS & FBS in total that entered the portal, so you know the dust has not settled yet.

None of the top 14 teams by talent composite rankings made the final.

Yeeeea.....but, they made the Playoffs. That's all anybody really cares about, now. Tell you the truth....I almost forgot the Championship Game was on tonight. And, really couldn't care less, who the winner is. Lol....should be a good game, though.

Is it just me...or does this game tonight seem like an afterthought, to the season?. Ho-hum...Lol...I almost forgot who was IN the CFP other than the SEC Teams and OSU and OregTom.

It just feels out of place in the grand scheme of things....at this point in the year. It's been 1-½ months since the Season and the early signing period ended.

The Dawgs have been out of it for 3 weeks...we've already moved on wirh basketball and fb recruiting. Everybody, but Indiana and Miami, that is. It seems...pointless. Lol

Lmao....kinda like the burp, at the end of a really fine meal.

so I am guessing from the down vote - if the Dawgs “are not first, they are last”??

  • BigDawg61BigDawg61 Posts: 3,563 ✭✭✭✭✭ Graduate

The Dawgs ARE first, as far as i'm concerned. They won the Championship, of the toughest Conference in the Country.

Theyve played 1 game, in the month and a half, since. During the season....that would've amounted to 5 games. These aren't the same teams, that played the final game of the season.

The CFP is like a Hobbit Season. Lol

Hey Thanks Montana !! I’m still in kindergarten with this NIL and TP stuff. 🤣. I sort of doubt it’ll happen but Maybe Kirby can get a player or even two from one or both of these teams. Thx again !! Go Dawgs !!
