Lol…in my opinion it shouldn’t be every year but it shouldn’t be every 40 years either

The current model of college football is not sustainable for any team without throwing at least $20+million into "hiring" players to join the team. Recruiting from high school is absolutely dead and you aren't going to win a championship without assembling a team through the portal. Saban was the smartest coach ever to get out of this mess before it got this out of hand.

So, why even bother anymore with this forum or UGA if its a lost cause?

@Eastmandawg That’s a great question for us All to consider. The landscape of CFB is Totally changed from its past. $$ is now almost the Sole factor. Almost.. Winning the Ntl. Title is gonna be harder and harder for Any team our Dawgs or anyone else. Like @Gramster said and I surely agree I’d certainly Hope it’d be more often than every 40 years !!

Each to their own ( Not referring to you two guys or Anyone specifically). But it sort of shocks and saddens me that Some Dawgs fans see 12-2 and the SEC Crown and just making the playoffs as a failure.

Man I Sure hope it doesn’t happen but it Might come a time Dawgs fans will be saying “ Man I sure miss that 12-2 Season and SEC Crown !! My intent behind that comment is Dawgs fans better Enjoy and be Proud of the accomplishments made !! NO I didn’t say Settle !! But to think the Dawgs or ANY team is gonna win the Ntl. Title like clockwork in This new landscape is just not realistic in my view.

Our Dawgs and that Includes our first year as true starter QB actually had a Very good season. If anyone is ashamed of them that’s certainly their right. But I’m Very proud of them. Now I’m Hoping they will do even better. And I’m Sure They want that even more than me because it’s Their bodies that get punished trying to get there !! Go Dawgs !!

Seriously! Miami and IU were huge spenders. No telling how Mark Cuban spent on IU. Wish we had a mega-donor!!

Please wake us all up when we have a new offensive coordinator. We will not seriously contend for another national championship until that happens.

Dazzle - I agree that I complain a lot, but something needs to change. Coaches are under so much pressure, and they just want it to flow smoothly. I get it. But, they are being paid to win and get better, MILLIONS of dollars. Taking the heat is part of that money. It's been three years of basically the same result. Time for Kirby to make some moves. Time for the dawg family to do a little howling and make sure he understands. When they walk away, they will still be millionaires. Mark Richt was a fantastic guy and a great coach, but he sat on Willie Martinez too long. Don't want Kirby to make that mistake.

Don't know what they spent in total $$$ but 3 out of the 4 semi-finalists were in the top 10 in quantity of portal players making up their current rosters however…spend a lot for a few each year or spend a little for a lot over a few years, that my friend is the question to what the secret winning formula will be moving forward. 76 portal players picked up by Indy in the last 3 cycles. Crazy yes?

Indiana ( really Indiana - think about that) just won national championship by bringing in transfer portal players, which made up 50% of the starters. They were willing to change when necessary. Vandy went from cellar to top by doing the same, including offensive staff.

My guess is it will be hardly sustainable by these respective programs…..but we shall see!

    Go Dawgs!
