Georgia football final ranking in AP Poll Top 25 for 2026 announced
Georgia football final ranking in AP Poll Top 25 for 2026 announced
To no surprise, Indiana finished the season as the No. 1-ranked team. As for the Georgia Bulldogs, they finished the year ranked as the No. 6 team. It is the second straight season Georgia finishes ranked No. 6.

Not sure how Oregon jumps us after that drubbing that ended their season.
or Ohio state for that matter.
Wow…..7 SEC teams in the top 15 during a “down year” for the conference. BIG has 3 in their “top heavy” conference. Go Dawgs!!!
It doesn't matter what they did last year, they bring back almost their entire team with portal guys and potentially the top Qb in next years draft.
Hope Kirby took note of what Cignetti did with lesser talent and portal guys. He looks like the old Saban and Kirby, but the key is he has elite coordinators, something that UGA has been sorely lacking since the departure of Lanning and Monken.
Very good ranking on paper, but the scary thing is we could have just as easy be unranked with 5 losses. Hats off to Kirby having the gamesmanship to go 11-2. I just worry all this parity eventually catches up to us.
We have terrific Asst Coaches, we went 12-2 with a young team and a bunch of injuries on offensive line. Just a couple of plays and we’re undefeated.
Looking forward to Spring game in Athens!
@BubbaBill….not just a "down year". It's been (3) consecutive down years where not a single SEC team has even been in the Championship game.
The SEC has diminished in its dominance. You can shrug it off, but there's no doubt about it. Expect that to continue as more parity comes to the landscape across the country.
This makes zero sense.
Cignetti also did it with 22-24 year old grown men with college experience, versus Kirby who used a lot of inexperienced 18-20 year old young men. Don't think it'd matter who the HC, or the coordinators are when you have that big of an advantage from the start. You have to give Cignetti credit though, he used the portal to seek out maybe not the highest ranked players, but those he knew fit his offense/defensive systems best, and did it to perfection. I've also read he looked heavily at injury reports on the players in the portal, and passed on them if injuries were on the report, regardless of their talents, and possible team contributions if injured again at IU. The same article stated (not sure how true it is) every player he chose from the portal was injury free during their college playing career up to the point of entering the portal. No doubt he spent countless hours researching every player he signed from the portal, and it showed on the field.
It makes perfect sense, just because Oregon lost to a good Indiana team a few weeks ago, doesn't mean they won't be really good next year. Oregon will probably be one of, if not the favorite to win the NC next year. If you listen to See Ball Get Ball podcast by David Pollack, he said the same thing….I guess you hate a DGD in Pollack too! 🙄
But the poll reflects THIS year, not next.
Pollack picked clemson to win it all in 2025 too.. we know how that turned out, he couldnt have been more wrong. They struggled to even be bowl eligible..and then proceeded to lose to a 6 win, overrated Penn State team by 2 possessions in the mighty Pinstripe bowl. Take 2025 for example, I bet very few, if any experts had Indiana picked as their 2025 National Champion..even DGD's arent always right.
You still are making absolutely no sense. Since when does a team's performance over the course of the season not matter in their final ranking? When has an end of season ranking ever been based on how good the team might be the next year? Does Pollack explain that?
Can he keep it up?
