Damon Wilson ll transferring to Miami, Georgia lawsuits unresolved
Damon Wilson ll transferring to Miami, Georgia lawsuits unresolved
Miami capitalized on the addition of a former Georgia starter last season, and the Hurricanes look to do it again â by way of Missouri â with the addition of edge rusher Damon Wilson.

UGA was 115th in sacks. Come on Kirby…..
we need to have a MUCH better pass rush. You see when QBs are constantly under pressure they can't pick your defense apart and forces them into mistakes.
Read about 3 lines of this article…was all I needed. When I first read about Wilson’s “arrangement” with his parents, I tried to find a silver lining. Swing. And. Miss.
Yall have heard I’m sure the ole Navy term “Steady as she goes”. Well with NIL it’s Sticky as she goes !! 😳
Only time will tell but one would think the Dawgs defense will be better 2026. All those young players are no longer young. We’ll see………
So why did he transfer to start with? More money or didn’t want to be coached hard?
@Tswood1959 Big $$. Miami has cash to burn. They can have him.
Wilson is another one of those dudes who just can't land somewhere, do the work and solidify his position. He would have easily started at UGA this year and next. Now he's another cautionary tale of a nomad who can't stay put. Whatever.
If he is so good, Why didn’t he go pro? He was supposed to be a three and done 5 star prospect. Something doesn’t add up.
He signed what amounts to a "contract". He was offered money, he accepted and was provided consideration for his services. Basic contract law.
It’s amazing that our defense played as well as it did last year without a consistent pass rush. They definitely have to fine someone(s) who can rush the passer. The biggest difference in our defense the past two years and the ‘21 and ‘22 defenses is the ability to get pressure up the middle.
Probably both.
I hope UGA goes through with the lawsuit. It is important to understand what is a contract and gain so clarity with the mess that is NIL. I want the guys paid, but NIL needs structure and regulation going forward.
I'm glad to see UGA following through with this. Miami and it's ilk will never stop poaching players until they have to pay up for the mess left behind when they steal talent.
I say definitely will be better. Especially to start the season compared to 2025. Most inexperienced and young defense in a long time right? Starting from a much higher floor and adding experience and pass rush. Last year's defense is about as weak as there will ever be under Kirby. Talk about a coaching job to get them to where the ended up and where they will start from this year. I say look out opposing offenses the next 2-3 years.
