I expect to see one of the back up centers at LG barring amazing improvement of Uni over what we saw of him last year in his start vs Tenn.

We’re in big trouble at LG if Uini and Calhoun are our top two options. Both are slow and confused.

Wow. Outside a few starters, that is one green O-line.

Just read LSU added to their highly regarded transfer class when the Tigers landed a commitment Friday from 5-star Colorado offensive tackle Jordan Seaton. Doesn't sound like the Dawgs were even being considered by Seaton.

Lots of WR bodies, but is any one of these guys going to rise to the elite? I don't see it.

After he’s gone through UGA strength and conditioning I’d love the idea of Prothro as a WR !! As I’ve said many times I’m no coach or expert. But I see the “IT” factor in this young man. Of course he’ll need to completely buy in and I think he has the right attitude to do that.

With the wealth of TEs available why not put him in a position where he can really be used ? I sure hope Bobo and Kirby are thinking along those lines. This young man has the natural tools that with some refining he could be a Real game changer !!

Kirby isn’t afraid to play very young guys on Defense. Give this kid some time in those early cupcake games and see what he looks like !! Go Dawgs !!

Guessing you either came to your senses, or too many reminded you that Gaston is not a left tackle…expect more. Oh well, guess you can't be perfect - waiting for position grades on what is returning, you always do such a great job when you play coach.

I don't think the big story on the OL is Bobo's injury recovery because that should heal fine in this time window; plus he has an experienced back-up who's only going to get better. Others have pointed out various other OL concerns, but a big one I have is whether Greene can stay healthy (since protecting Gunner's blindside and managing that edge will dictate the season as much or more than any other factor). If so, we're good (though not necessarily great). But if injury history repeats itself, we could be in big trouble, what with no portaling in any of the available studs on the market, and our back-ups showing a big delta between where they are and need to be for SEC edge play. That said, I'm cautiously optimistic about the new OL coach, hoping he can get everyone as close to their full potential as possible, individually and as a unit. Go Dawgs!

I’d leave Greene at RT, put Gaston at LT, Bobo obviously at center, Glover at RG or LG, and the true freshman at LG or RG…would be a good o-line. I remember 2 years ago Greene being at LT and he didn’t play as well as he does on the right side.

I’m also hoping that Bobo will find more ways to incorporate the blazing speed of Dwight “Peanut” Phillips. Hoping Peanut will really work extra hard in the weight room. Make himself a little more durable taking hits.

With better strength and muscle padding to take on hits better, I could see him in a James Cook role. He gets a little clear runway in front of him, he’s gone, TD !! He was just a bit to breakable before, not enough Muscular meat on his bones !! Pushing hard in the weight room can fix that.

Yes there are question marks, Even problems that must be worked out. There always is. But over all I’m very excited about this 2026 group !! I see Huge potential.

I’m excited about the new O Line coach. Not only does he have valuable NFL experience, he’s young, should bring allot of vim and vigor in coaching. I think the players will buy in. It’s already been noted he’s well liked by the players. Maybe they’ll be willing to push a steel wall over for him, brick would be to easy !! Go Dawgs !!

I've been hearing a lot of promising things about this Colter Ginn feller. Do you know anything about him? I'm hearing he's "on the rise", ala "Stetson Bennett walk-on style".

I agree that Nate Frazier, Chauncey Bowens and Dante Dowdell are the strength of the offense. But this isn't a good thing. They aren't the James Cook/Zamir White/Kenny McIntosh trio from 2021, let alone the 2017 trio of future NFL Pro Bowlers (Nick Chubb, Sony Michel, D'Andre Swift) who led a UGA rushing attack that had almost 3900 yards at 6 ypc behind an OL that was nowhere near as good as the 2021 one. Yes, you can build a dominant running attack without a stable of elite RBs. UGA had a system where D'Andre Swift and a collection of undrafted or very young players had 3350 yards in 2018. But that was dismantled with the shift from the Chaney system then to the Monken one now.

Maybe the WRs and TEs from the 2025 recruiting class will turn out to be big time players. If that happens, then someone will need to explain why they didn't get more chances on a 2025 team where only Zachariah Branch and Colbie Young had more than 2 catches a game (and Young barely had 3 a game). Otherwise, while this will be an offense good enough to get back to Atlanta in an underwhelming SEC that no longer has the likes of even Tommy Tuberville - let alone Nick Saban, Les Miles, Urban Meyer, Phil Fulmer and Steve Spurrier, who created the actual SEC gauntlet that Mark Richt had to run through - it will not have enough firepower to do anything in the playoff. Just as the 2025 and 2024 teams didn't and the 2023 team didn't beyond McConkey and Bowers.

Yes, I said "underwhelming SEC." I remember when "the third best coach in the SEC" was a guy with a national title whether he was Phil Fulmer, Steve Spurrier or Les Miles. These days the second and third best coaches in the SEC - Lane Kiffin and Steve Sarkisian - are guys that Southern Cal fired and have only been consistent winners in the portal/NIL era. Give Dan Mullen, who unlike Billy Napier was great at Xs and Os, the ability to raid starters from other programs instead of having to bother with recruiting and developing them and he wins 11 games a year too. Too bad Auburn was too daft to figure that out but oh well.

Yes, the SEC being down makes it easier for UGA to get to Atlanta and the 12 team playoff every year. But the lack of competition will allow UGA to overrate their prospects once they get to the playoff. Take Clemson. Yes, I said it. No, the ACC even in its best day was never the SEC. But … Dabo Swinney's best days came in early to mid 2010s when FSU, Louisville, Virginia Tech, UNC etc. were a lot better. Clemson hasn't done squat since the ACC became a cakewalk, like 2021 when Wake Forest went 11-3 and won the ACC with absolutely zero future NFL players.

@randomsportsfan…You always have some interesting opinions, some of which I agree with, and others - like this one - will take until the end of next season to find out if you were correct. I believe that Frazier and Bowens, if they can stay healthy, are a very good tandem even though I certainly don't put them in the same category as a Gurley, Chubb, or Michel. If we can improve the vertical downfield passing threat then we'll have a much more balanced offense.

I do wholeheartedly agree with you on this point.

Yes, the SEC is down and there is more parity across the landscape. I do think the Dawgs bring in a very capable roster for 2026 that might just be the best overall group in the SEC. Yes, I don't want to see us just waltz into the playoffs only to lose again in our first game. IMHO, Meaningful improvement in Gunner and the offense is the key to us going further than that. The defense looks formidable, so I'm really expecting Schumann to continue to do his magic with that group.

JGaston is not mobile enough nor agile enough to play LT in pass protection. Neither is MHarrison. Doubtful that JJackson is either. Ogbogo better be a player. He may be forced to play LT. How on earth is MHarrison a "R-Fr"??? The guy has been here 3-4 years.

Seems kind of a waste to have ZHelton slotted in at #5 OC. He'll never play. He could be a wildcard spot contributor on the DL in some situations.

Underwhelming roster at WR. Who is going to step up to be a good bet to make all the clutch catches? ZBranch has big shoes to fill. TTaylor and CJW need to show why they got big NIL this year. Prothro could contribute at WR as could Barbour in the slot. But nobody proven to be a star in the making.

A lot of offensive question marks. It would not surprise me to see UGA use more than 1 starting QB in '26.

I like how the Wide Receivers are listed, like it actually matters. As we saw this past year, it was Branch and Thomas, until Thomas got hurt. A field full of receivers but, other than those two, they rarely got a ball thrown their way. It was honestly embarrassing. Add in the "no block" screens and it was just painful to watch.

And Tight End. Such a strength, wasted last year.

I am seriously hoping we use these tools better the next go round.
