- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Georgia AD Josh Brooks still unsure if there will be a G-Day game this sprimg
When asked whether or not the Bulldogs would have G-Day this year, athletic director Josh Brooks did not confirm the annual spring game would be played.

This used to be a fun day to take the grandkids to tour the campus and enjoy a no stress game. I have not been the last two years. Another negative change from the new environment of college athletics. Still love baseball and hope they don't screw that up also. Hope everyone is safe this weekend with the super cold weather!!
But the fans love G Day but who cares what they think.
Speaking of games…listen to this…talk about a crazy, broken calendar…
Next season’s championship is set for Jan. 25, 2027, in Las Vegas - a week later than this year's Championship game. In 2028, it’s scheduled for Jan. 24. In 2029, Jan. 22.
Next year, from New Year’s Day until the championship game, there will be two college football games in 23 days. A team that follows Indiana’s path — win the conference championship and get a first-round bye — will play three games in 51 days to win a title.
Good grief. Ridiculous.
So I guess we will have to take Kirby's word for it all this year. He does not want anyone criticizing Gunner's lack of improvement if there is no improvement. It'll buy him some time.
That's cute, did you make that up all by yourself?
The last couple of years, the G-Day game was a showcase for those deeper down the depth chart to be seen by other schools and poached.
message is—- if they keep letting the system devolve and rampant poaching our players jn the portal, we are not giving them a chance to show what they have. End the portal madness, then the games come back
OK. I have a question/gripe: I have 275 posts and am still a "Junior" while railroadtrack1 (post just before mine) has 270 posts and is a Senior. Am I that bad? Is railroadtrack1 that good?
I could always use MontanaDawg's 2774 posts and Graduate status as a motivator and guide to what I might one day become. But now, I have been triggered :-)
Yes, I am whining.
Not sure that is the reason for no game this year. Up until this year there were 2 transfer windows and 1 of them was after teams had their spring practices and games. Only 1 transfer portal window for 2026 and it was January 2-16 and schools in championship game had additional 5 days after game. What I have read is that coaches have decided that there is really very little value in the games, and even though controlled, the risk of injuries outweigh any reward.
Brooks is waiting for his orders from CKS before committing. There will be a game in one form or another. Too much money to grab to cancel especially now that there is no 2nd TP.
It’s the game that a lot of families bring their young children because they can’t make it to any home games during the season. Those people get to experience some of Sanford Stadium. If this goes by the wayside, then college football continues to veer way off course.
I agree with your comments. And sincerely echo your good hope for safety in this extreme cold weather !! I tried repeatedly to upvote your comments but it wouldn’t do it. I use a smart phone but I’ve never had trouble like that before !! Anyway God Bless & Protect You, your family and Everyone through this severe weather !! Go Dawgs !!
I Also agree that doing away with G Day is just another way of destroying traditional CFB and moving forward to semipro. Sad.
The fact that these decisions are so hard and complex is only because college football has become a money-grubbing professional league of players, not student athletes. Players' only association with UGA seem to be their contracts and the uniforms they wear. Very sad. My interest is starting to fade in what used to be one of my passions in life.
The fact is that it has become a business, and if UGA is going to stay at the top it is going to have to make some changes, but someone needs to enlighten me on how not having a spring game changes anything for the better. Sure, it helps keep the media from getting any info that Kirby wants to keep secret, but what about the fans?
