Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

"A mix between a tank and a jackrabbit, which is an extremely difficult combination to tackle. A naturally low-to-the-ground runner with true workhorse capabilities as he constantly bounces off defenders or cuts around them to find extra yardage. Spent much of sophomore campaign deployed as a fullback in a Wing-T offense. Ran absolutely wild in Pennsylvania's WPIAL Class 4A playoffs with 280-yard and 274-yard rushing performances. Not a true burner, but can hit the gas when a crease opens up. Frequently thrashes forward at the first sign of contact and almost always seems to be falling forward. Tested reasonably well as a ninth grader at the National Combine in San Antonio and has impressed as a pass catcher on the offseason camp circuit. Fits the bill of a hard-nosed football player given the physicality he also flashes on defense while doubling as a cornerback. Must avoid setbacks, but projects as a potential impact player for a College Football Playoff contender that can move the chains while facing stacked boxes."
zonadawg61, love the "tank/jackrabbit comparison….I'd say M-1 A-1 Abrams….Hopefully Mr Spell has embraced the fact that he can ONLY add to the distinguished legacy of RBU by remaining true to his commitment to the G, dedicate himself to the Dawg process and focus heart and soul to become a DGD!
I might as well throw my two cents in on this, which is the same as everyone else's. I"m always thrilled to receive positive news about the Dawgs, but the nature of college football the past couple of years has just left me — and many other fans, with a hefty amount of skepticism about ANY so-called "commitment." We're all hoping for the best, of course, but after Jared Curtis and host of others, it's understandable that most fans are taking the, "we'll believe it when we see it," approach to this announcement. Go Dawgs!
I fully agree with you here. It’s hard to get all excited about a player making a “commitment” when that word has been so abused by so many players. If he follows through and signs Then we could have a measure of excitement. Then you have to wonder will he Stay or hit the TP at the first opportunity ? These elements have Ruined CFB. As I’ve said to many times, I’ve been a Dawgs fan for far to long to jump ship now. It is what it is. But this new brand of CFB is to Me a sorry veneer of CFB that you and I and countless other fans grew up watching.
I’m sure Gunner gets a measure of NIL but I think compared to many it’s very low level. His Attitude on and off the field remind me of the glory days of CFB and I think that’s the main reason I love and respect the kid so much. And there are other Dawgs that fit that image as well.
But as time goes by more and more it’s All about the mighty $$. Loyalty to Team and fanbase is getting thinner and thinner. It’s So sad to see it transpiring right before our eyes. There are a few exceptions maybe, but now it’ll be the program that Has and Spends the most $$.
What have our little boys growing up ( speaking of CFB) got to look to in terms of Hero’s now ? I guess now ( two little boys talking) it’s My favorite player made $8 Million in NIL yours only made $6 Million !! To me that’s such a sad image. So now the superior moral value is how much money did you make ?
Man I was feeling really good about this until I scrolled down. Not saying y'all are wrong...
Forgive me if I have to curb my enthusiasm. Get back to us when he signs. Commitment this early in the game means very little in the current disaster that is college athletics. many of these players already have "agents" and many are playing all sides against the middle to get a bigger bag.💰️
Spell is HIM! Other teams know this too! RIght now we're just the leader in the clubhouse. But we have Hope! Kirby needs to be ready to up the ante.
I am not going to bore anyone and waste anyone's time with rehashing what we all know is the current landscape with commitments.
I will say that for now, we are the ones to beat and I would rather be in that position.
the young man can run over and away from defenders. Hoping he doesn’t run away from UGA. Only time will tell.
NIL and the transfer portal has tempered my excitement for commitments. Will be a fine addition for RBU but for now I'll just say I'm hopeful he sticks to his word.
1755 yards in 5 games? That's exciting, especially since he likes us a lot!! Looking forward to you, Kemon. (Assuming his high school plays 10 games)
Lots of buzz about this one being a Dawg for good, meaning done done - similar feel as the OT to Miami last year that flipped away from our silent commitment back last May, except this time its the other team feeling the disappointment.
Also look to sign three like the 24 year of Frazier, Bowens & Phillips. This time its Spell, Beard & Parker!
Parker & Beard are both legacy recruits. Parker related to Roquan & Beard nephew of Garrison Hearst.
Garrison's son, RB Gannon Hearst already a PWO on our current roster. Plus, we'll be likely losing 3 RBs after 26, Frazier, Bowens & Dowdell & only signed one RB in both 25 & 26.
So, the Spell, Beard & Parker package will be huge in restocking the room.
