Hey, I totally get it about Cignetti. His coaching track record speaks for itself. We'll see how he does over the next couple of seasons. I'd still take Kirby over Curt most any day for the Dawgs!!

This season is a very pivotal season for the team and the coaches.

Do we get over the hump and truly compete for a Natty or do we languish in the bottom of the playoffs?

The regular season schedule is definitely more forgiving than has been in recent years, but it's still a pretty tough hoe to row.

"MontanaDawg"—His track record over the years is good, but I don't think he's been in the big leagues long enough for such praise. Can't deny his talent acquisition though.

Kirby has a team that's good enough to win it this year. We'll see if they can put the pieces together and avoid enough injuries.

I'd put Kirby Smart's, "Coaching record" and "consistency", up against anybody...anytime. from Valdosta State to Georgia to Alabama....and, back to Georgia as King.

Lol...sorry....Kirby ain't replaced yet. And, even CBS can't move those goalposts....I don't care how much testimonial they get out of UGA Haters.

We've already seen how bad these CBS, ABC, NBC posers....LIE....LIE....LIE. Lol....they really don't know how to be honest and truthful anymore.

Everybody's looking for an angle to get MORE....viewers, listeners, advertisers....MONEY!. Lol....I'm not even gonna get into how bad they've screwed the American People over with their lies and cover-ups in the political arena. I think we ALL know, anyway.

    "CBS Says"....pffft! Lolol

I didn’t realize Cignetti had won Two Ntl. Titles. 🙄 Especially B2B. To be The One you gotta Beat The One…………

Please stop regurgitating the trash from CBS. A bunch of idiots from a scam “network”.

Absurd,1 good year and buys a championship can't in any way be compared to the body of work by Kirby Smart

Hey folks, Cignetti is for real. 27-2 in (2) seasons at Indiana, and he went 52-9 in 4 seasons at James Madison, successfully guiding the team from the FCS to the FBS and the Sun Belt Conference. His coaching goes all the way back to 1984 as a grad assistant at Pitt and through many more teams, including Bama.

4 Years, 46-6, .885 Win% playing in the FBS. Not bad.

Like I said, he needs more time in the FBS to see if he can continue to compete at a high level. But honestly, I wouldn't bet against him. He focuses on fundamentals, studies film constantly, and lives football. What's interesting is his approach to practice - he goes much lighter and shorter in practices than Kirby and gives his players more time off.

Kirby is still King in my book as well, but you've got to give credit where it's due.

I, personally, never said, that Cignetti couldn't coach or that I disliked him.

Quite the opposite. He became one of my favorite all-time coaches last year. Cause, I love his approach to the game. I'm a fan.

Lol...but, that doesn't give him license to breath the same rare air as Bryant, Saban, Cofflin, Bowden, Paterno, yada yada....and, yes...Kirby Smart.

Heck....they didn't even put Kirby up there till after his 3rd CFP appearance, 2nd Natty Ring and 2nd SECC as a HC....and, a few as a DC under one of the other GOATs.

Not to mention being among the top 5 in recruiting every year from '17 to '22. That's 6 straight years of elite recruiting to match elite play.

IMO....Those are the "goalposts". Somebody at CBS didn't get the meno. But, hey...it's CBS, where mediocre is bes' and everybody gets a trophy. Lol...they got no game.

Maybe, all it takes for a Coach & Program (& players) to garnish maximum hype and win some of these accolades & Awards....

....Is a checkbook. Along with a few gold bars and cash to eliminate a paper trail. 🤣😎

Lmao...i just wonder, how much some of these media outlets and "reporters" are getting paid to hype up schools in the BIG12 and ACC?.

Clemson and North Carolina got more press than Ga Tech last year. And, Tech was probably the ACC's best team (for a while). Lol

With the SEC...it was Vanderbilt, Texas and Bama. UGA was usually a "cursory mention".

Imo...though, it may not be as relevant to HS Recruits as it once was.…hype is still free advertisement. And....CFB IS A BUSINESS! Subject to political and economic rules of engagement....imo.

And, lately...the media has been shoveling out hype by the loads on certain players and certain schools, that haven't actually earned the mentions and praise.

I realize, it's always been done this way. Which is why the BIG10, Notre Dame, Alabama and Florida/California Teams have so many Trophies and Awards.

Most of the people formulating [biased] and faulty opinions come from those schools. What the hell?!! I thought UGA was big on Journalism.

What?....Are they just too nice...and have too much class, to hype their school up a little bit? Lol....I know, nobody likes a braggart...but, dang...this is war....i mean business.…i mean a game. Same same in CFB, today.. Lol

    Agree 💯👍

24 of his best players came over with him from JMU when he was hired at Indiana…..Covid year seniors all! Grown men who had played in Cignetti’s system for 5-6 years! One year’s worth of “right time, right place”!

Gonna be hard for any Coach to repeat that kind of magic……
and they are comparing that season to Coach Kirby’s 16 years of consistency through these changing times!?

    Balderdash!

LMFAO. Cignetti is a great coach but their championship took a perfect storm of ineptitude of the NC double A ***holes and talent acquisition. Is it sustainable. We are gonna find out. Number 1 draft pick at QB will always put you in the running (see Clemson). Height of NIL and maxed out Covid years. Talent spread across the Country no longer in the Deep South even though that’s where it’s born and these great high school coaches are developing it. Few injuries. Carson Beck. I could go on and on. I do believe the best quality depth of coaches is in the Big Ten. Watching the “meaningless” bowl games and playoff games the Big 10 were across the board coached better.

That Indiana team wouldn’t beat the Georgia Championship teams. The championship teams of Ohio State, Alabama, Clemson, LSU and that one Michigan team. All those teams would annihilate that Indiana team.

It’s all about that money. UGA is paying too much for its coaches and not enough for its players.
