Still give him a month in my mind to prove himself. Basically still in spring training state at this point.
Yeah too much money to not give it a go. Braves are winning even when he is out there so why not?
Dubon can play SS occasionally on his 2026 tour of the Braves IF and OF. Mateo has earned some playing time and adds value with his speed. He is the primary pinch runner late. Play Kim the rest and see if he can get it going.
All of that is predicated on the team continuing to win. If they slip harder decisions have to be made.

The good news is that the Braves have played 66 games with 96 left to go.
They could play .500 ball the rest of the year (not likely) which would be a massive slump for sure…….but, with a 48-48 record for the remaining schedule, they would end up with 93 wins with the 45 wins that they have now! And people are worrying about a falloff…..!
Sounds like playoff material to me!
Dang I just love Weiss’ “chasing wins” mentality!
Go Braves!
Acuna injured again. Uggh. At least it doesn't sound like the knee.
Braves let one slip tonight. Riley is absolutely lost. Got picked off 1b. That cannot happen.
Only consolation tonight is the Phillies lost in the exact same fashion.
Don't know what must be going on in Riley's head. Might need to see a sports shrink or something. Lost seems like a good description. Rare falter by the pen, but Iglesias often seems to play with fire, lets lots of base runners on before closing the door. Very few clean innings. Nice game for Olson, though.
We discussed the almost predictable, inevitable slump that could hit the Braves. Is this it? We lost several games in a row, last night to a division rival and lost Spencer Strider for an unknown period of time. Might this be the "rough spot" in our schedule that tests our mettle?
Not all bad news. JR Ritchie with a superb long relief job after Strider left. Maybe he gets a start or two. The Bravos did have 9 hits last night - one for each starter I think.
There were two positives for Riley. He finally got a hit, a double and didn't get hit in the face with a ball. Maybe this was his turning point.
Right the ship against those low down stinking Mets
Braves win! Stopped the losing streak against those lousy, stinkin Mets!
Huge overturn of Soto’s HR!
Should have called him for stealing signs….jumping up and down whenever Iglesias was going to throw a change up….but it looked like Iggy crossed them up as Bichette hit into a game ending, sweet double play!
46 wins in the book!
Can’t make this stuff up!
Go Braves!
Now let’s go you hairy Diamond Dawgs! Bury those Longhorns!
Nice win to stop the mini-slide. Perez gave us a strong 5 innings. Eli White, one of those really great bench guys got a HR and a total of 3 hits. Got to give kudos to Didier Fuentes for another clean inning with 3 Ks. Can't wait for him to grow up. Go for the series win tomorrow and, hopefully things get back to normal.
Currently trailing those lousy stinking Mets, Braves offense in need of a Drake Baldwin infusion.
Well, Elder has turned back into a pumpkin 🎃
Leon is batting .095 Wow! He has a hit today, so his average actually climbed to that mark!
Most of the Braves starting 5 have been pitching like aces. However, I don't see them as aces so I think they have been over performing. I expect there to be more days like today as they come back a little closer to earth. Two more would be starters are on their way back so they may help some.
Will be great to get Drake back. We've not gotten much offense from our catchers since his stint on the IL.
More bad news. Spencer Strider has been shut down for a month and then he will have another MRI. He probably knows how to run the machine by now. If his next MRI is clean he can begin a throwing program. Could be back by late July (best case) or early September (OK case) or not at all (worst case) for the rest of the season.
Looks like JR Ritchie will fill his slot. Hurston Waldrep back soon and maybe Schwellenbach after that. Both were showing a lot of promise last season before they were shut down.
Hopefully we can welcome "Rake" Baldwin back tomorrow for the series opener. We've not got much offense from the C position since he was injured. Hopefully he can regain his form in a short period of time.
Meanwhile, the series loss to the White Sox isn't looking as bad as they keep winning and looking like a real contender. We lost the series to a good club.
Braves hitters all time striking out in a single game is 20 by Kerry Woods. Is this safe tonight?
