Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

You offer a kid who isn’t even in high school? Because he was tearing up the pee wee league?
You’re right, it does sound crazy but I remember as a kid back in the late 50’s playing at the old YMCA in downtown Athens. There was a kid by the name of Andy Johnson who played QB. Early on, everyone knew he was special! Turns out, he was more than special! Go Dawgs!
been going on for the last 15 years. Lane Kiffin was doing it at USC
all a bit misleading D1 coaches can’t officially offer, or have conversations around an offer until June of their sophomore year. This seems to be more of gamesmanship on the part of Key.
"BornADawg"—I remember also playing at the old YMCA in Athens. A lot of very good football players went through there. As you say Andy Johnson, who was one of the best runners I ever saw played there as well as the Tarkenton brothers. I can't remember Fran's brother's name, but he was a very good one too. At that time eighth grade was the beginning of high school and that's when we usually played them. I played for a very good high school program, but we always dreaded playing them because they would kick our A@$ physically and we dreaded it. I hadn't thought of that in a long time-thanks for the memories. GO DAWGS
"Brooksie"—I'm thinking Brent Key will do ANYTHING to try to make the bugs relevant again—-but I'm afraid Bobby Dodd is long gone.
Yes! Very good memories indeed! Go Dawgs!
@BornADawg Andy was definitely a very gifted athlete, no doubt. And to this day, he is still 1 of my all time favorite DAWGS. One of the best (if not the best) athlete(s) of all time to come from old Athens High School, and the city of Athens,GA. I can still remember Andy speaking to our Cub Scout troop when he played at UGA. He also brought along a teammate that night, the PK, Kim Braswell.
Though I Sure wouldn’t want him playing at GT I’ve got mixed emotions about him playing on his Dad’s team. Would that be a good or bad thing ? I honestly don’t know, allot of pros and cons to consider. Either way he’s got a Long time to worry about all that. Wish him the best regardless !
i wouldn’t be surprised if Kirby hangs it up by the time Andrew is playing college ball.
While a scholarship would be nice, I'm pretty sure Kirby's kids can have their college tuition paid by mom and dad…now, Tech is kinda pricey..😏
Didn't UGA/CKS offer Justis Terry when he was in 8th grade?
i remember Mark Richt’s last season they offered an 8th grade RB. It isn’t a new thing.
Key's a good coach, but he'll never win much at GT…. He would be a great replacement for the left coast swami currently coaching at Bama…
Brent is screwing around with Kirby😝🤔
