The No. 3 national seed Bulldogs were getting prepared for 6-foot-6 pitcher Dylan Volantis, the Texas starter in Saturday’s 8 p.m. ET College World Series matchup. Volantis (10-1, 2.03 ERA), a finalist for National Pitcher of the Year for the second straight season, owns the third-lowest ERA in the country.

    You would think being the top seed we could get a break with the seeding. This looks to be a major hurdle. Good luck Dawgs and bring your "A" game!!

    Off topic: I see Texas outbid us on another high ranked DL. Kirby may not be worried, but I sure as hell am!

    I wonder where Texas (& Miami, T A&M, etc.) put them all. They may be getting big bucks, but they gotta be concerned about playing time.

    Well even if Texa$ get's em all it doesn't mean wins. As a kid in the '70's, I thought my LA Rams with Merlin Olsen, Larry Brooks/Coy Bacon, Fred Dryer, & Jack Youngblood could not be beaten. Yet every year the Cowboys or Vikings knocked them out of the Super Bowl. The beginning, with the exception of '80-'83 & Kirby era, of my years of tears from my favorite teams.
