OL should be really good this fall.

Going to be really important that the new OL coach is a keen developer. If so, using lower rated talent would be a huge plus in the new recruiting scheme.

The Dawgs O-line may be very good under Kirby, but they've never stayed healthy enough or gelled enough as a unit to win the coveted Joe Moore Award. Bama, Michigan, and Iowa have all won the award twice since Kirby became the Dawg's HC.

That needs to change, and 2026 could be the best group we've had in years.

Another recruiting article from Conner and another mention of our "haul". I hope all of our cattle will develop well and become first rounders. Greene has the ability to play in the NFL, I just hope his penchant for getting hurt doesn't cost him too much money.

I sure hope not! As stacked as we are, they need to be huge in the passing game. I think QB play to be better this year is panamont on opening the TE's in the middle.

Was Freeling a consensus 5-star? I seem to remember him being 5-star on some reports but high 4 star on others..

It would be interesting to see how 5 star OTs (on which we miss) are developed at other programs..such the Cantwell young man in a couple of seasons.

I think number of "stars" is a bit over-rated, particularly when comparing 5s to 4s to 3s. I don't doubt there's a strong correlation between class ranking and eventual college output, so of course I'd rather have more 5s than 3s. But the difference between these higher-end stars don't take into account the nuances as players mature, particularly what's in their heads and hearts. In other words, the physical attributes of these kids as a 3/4/5 star athlete are quite comparable, and their actual performance will manifest from things that are hard to measure like football IQ (adjusting to complex playbook and speed at next level), work ethic/desire, etc. Go Dawgs!

I can't wait to see the continued improvement of the run game behind these road graders. New coach, renewed enthusiasm will mean Stockton won't abandon the pocket so quickly. Gunner has fixed his mechanics, as Brooks Austin shows on his video from Gunner's time at Mobile, AL QB camp. Defense will be lights out. Going to be a great season.

Why does Smart continue to pay Stacy Searles bundles of money every year. He has been a disaster as the OL coach. Passed around the SEC like Bobo was. Hmmm…. Do you see a trend? They are both paid seven figure salaries. That is obscene.

hahahah just told on yourself homie! Searles moved into an off field role. Phil Rauscher is the new OL coach. So is your team Bama or Florida?

Sounds good in theory. But the reality was that 4 of the 5 5* OT signed by CKS were first round NFL draft picks. And the transfer portal was littered with UGA 3* (and 4*) OL recruits.

At the same time near 5* Greene and 5* Freeling did not play like 5* players while at UGA. Blame injuries or blame coaching but UGA had its greatest successes with highly ranked OL recruits.

A lot of bodies (and new coaching) on the OL this year. Will be interesting to watch if the '26 OL can outperform the '25 OL.

It is imperative that the '26 OL give QB GS excessive amounts of time in the pocket. We saw last year that a sped up GS is not a championship level QB.
