ATHENS — In hindsight, it shouldn’t be a surprise that Georgia’s pass rush wasn’t ready for primetime last season.

"Georgia’s defense will need to do a better job of both pressuring and sacking opposing quarterbacks."

I'll be surprised if we see any elaborate pass-rushing schemes in the first three games, but I'll definitely be looking for it when OU comes to town. They can't afford to give Mateer a clean pocket or 3.5+ seconds without pressure. There's so much speed and talent in this defense (as this article points out) that it should be a nightmare for any opposing QB, and a lot of fun for us who delight in watching them run for their life!

    GO DAWGS!

Not being too picky but I would like to see some of those sacks against the big boys we play and not just the first lesser division foes.

"GoodOlDawg"—Agreed. I don't think any will be turned loose until OU comes to the Classic City on 9/26. When Mateer and his group come to town, that's when the season gets serious. No injuries please!!

Hard to have a worse pash rush than we've had the last couple of seasons. It's amazing how the game changes when constant pressure is put on the QB allowing them ZERO time to pick apart the defense on passes.

we miss that push up the middle that truly causes havoc. Hoping Elijah Griffin makes a leap this season.
