I suppose we needed one more personal pre-season poll to grouse over until we play real footballKinda like getting a commitment from 9th grader; not really reason to get excited til the real action takes place.

A reasonable and legit pre-season poll Mike.

I'll believe Texas is a legit contender if they can beat or at least hang close against the Buckeyes. Sark hasn't impressed me much thus far with his ability to win big games.

If you look at the SOS rankings there is no comparison between the SEC gauntlet and the B1G conference schedules this season or really any season previously. The SEC teams take up most of the top toughest schedules. However, the CFP Committee, despite their promise to take SOS more seriously in their rankings, still relies too heavily on wins and losses in their rankings. Oh well...guess we'd better win.

However, the SEC keeps losing and falling flat in the bowl games and playoffs, so which conference - the SEC or B1G - is really the better and tougher conference??? The SEC has had no leg to stand on for the last 3 seasons, and giving the tired old excuse of "our players are too worn out to win in the post- season" is just a lame reason for continually getting pummeled by the competition.

The Dawgs and the rest of the SEC needs to take care of business when it counts the most - in the post-season.

Sounds like Russell is going to be the QB for the Tide, and he is better than Milroe was. I have no idea about what the defense will look like over there but the running backs are banged up, and I kind of expect Russell to be a one man show early on. You know, the kind that gives the Dawgs defense fits, normally. I however think that UGA's defense will rise to the occasion for the first win in Bryant Denny since 2007, and will go a long way towards getting more respect in the battle with Bama for the Dawgs. Whether Bama should or should not be top ten, I don't think anyone knows that right now.

It seems to me that Griffith dumps on the Dawgs even more than the MSM outlets. He needs to move northward and shill for OSU and the rest of the northern teams that play a schedule that southern high schools could excel with.
